one of the most incredible albums EVER!

This album doesn't have one bit of filler on it. It's always been one of my top faves since I was just a kid.

I think it's very good but I do think it contains some filler.

DREAM EVIL is my fave Dio (yea, I know, I'm a nut) but HOLY DIVER's all good too.

Quite possibly the quintessential heavy metal album. It's superb with nothing but excellent tracks.

For the sake of giggles I rate em as so:

1. Holy Diver (quintessential metal album)

2. The Last in Line

3. Sacred Heart

4. Lock up the Wolves

5. Dream Evil

6. Master of the Moon

these are all great!!!

7. The rest

8. Strange Highways (yes, even Dio put out some filler. give him a break though - at least he was almost perfect. What metal band can say that?)

Holy Diver really is a great album. "Shame On The Night" is probably my favorite Dio track, although the whole album is quite good indeed.

I've always slightly preferred Last in Line, but I definitely consider both among my all time favorite metal albums

Awesome album, although I'll toss my lot with Freddy for Dream Evil as the ultimate Dio's album.

my fave as well, great flow from start to finish.

So far this is the only Dio album I own, and I love it.

I really like HOLY DIVER LIVE (on dvd and cd) when DIO played all the songs of HOLY DIVER live, from the first till the last in the right order. Very cool.

I think this album is his best and the remastered version with the interview is great!!

And despite the fact that most Dio fans hate it, try Lock Up The Wolves. Personally I feel that album is most underserving of the hate. That should be reserved for Angry Machines which only has about three good songs IMO.
