| So, I'm curious. Everyone here on the forum has their collection of CDs. At least regular posters do, from what I've seen. Some have many, some less. Some have more extreme music, some more mainstream music. Some have glam, some have thrash, some death, some pop, some have everything. Some have thousands, some dozens, some just started buying. But what are those albums EVERYONE owns? I'll list a few I would think most do own. If you don't own any of these, mention it, and they'll be removed from the list. Also add other albums you think everyone has. The easy ones first: Iron Maiden - The Number of the BeastMetallica - Master of PuppetsMegadeth - Rust in PeaceJudas Priest - Screaming for VengeanceBlack Sabbath - ParanoidMetallica - Metallica AC/DC - Back in Black Guns'n'Roses - Appetite for Destruction So if you don't have any of those, just say it and we'll see what sticks. Also, I'm well aware we might come to the conclusion there are NO albums EVERYONE here owns. Mmmhh... maybe if you actually only own Norwegian true black metal CDs, you shouldn't take part. Or if you just joined and are 14 years old and use your allowance to complete your Linkin Park collection, maybe it doesn't count. Or if your house just burnt and all your possessions with it. Or if you're just a downloader.... but in all other cases, everyone counts. DISCLAIMER: If nothing sticks, we'll count albums you have owned AT SOME POINT in your life. If still nothing comes up, we will just go with albums everyone has heard at some point EDIT: I think we are going with albums everyone has at least HAD at some point. I bolded those on my list. The others are already out.

Any format right? Any format, yeah, I guess. I was thinking vinyl, tape or CD originally. But if you buy it on mp3, too, I think it should count. I don't know about copied tapes/CDR's/mp3's though. Maaaybe? - Schbopo wrote:

Have, remastered Raw Power edition, unremarkable as an album, as with some other Maiden, I have it mostly because best ofs are dirty and I want the other songs too..even if a lot of them are filler. Oh...mine has some pages in the booklet swapped with 'Powerslave' pages. rare? heh.. - Quote :
- Metallica - Master of Puppets
Metallica - Metallica Had on tape, no further interest in this band, knew their discography line by line up to when Reload was released.. - Quote :
- Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Have, excellent, except some of those redone 'Take No Prisoners' lines.. - Quote :
- Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance
Had on tape, may get all the remasters at some point, but I have been burnt out on Priest since I was 14, and that is some true s*** ya'll. - Quote :
- Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Want, had on tape...will buy when they cave in and put the superb remasters out APART from the BLACK BOX.. - Quote :
- AC/DC - Back in Black
Heard, did not buy, do not want.. - Quote :
- Guns'n'Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Heard, did not buy, do not want.. What about 'Operation: Mindcrime'? I shall hope everyone has that. That is the one single thing I have found in metal that I can agree on in terms of, everyone says it's objectively great, everyone should have it, etc.

You'd have to be at least somewhat interested in prog metal and concept albums.

| That's the thing though. That album just isn't progressive metal. 'Rage for Order' was, but 'O:M' is just amazing heavy, powerish metal..it appeals to that wider audience but yet it's just so good in what the conceptualization adds to it..the intensity, the flow, the UTTERLY METAL feeling of ULTIMATE DISCONTENT, PASSION that makes mundane political commentary move to make way for the meaning behind it.............the human condition...ahhhhhhhhhh. | |

| But you'd have to be at least tolerant towards progressive metal in order to consider picking up a Queensryche album, no matter which one of them.
So, we're down to:
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Anyone not own one of these? Or Operation Mindcrime?

| Metallica - Metallica - Never had, probably won't...although I like most of what's on it. Megadeth - Rust in Peace - If "had" counts, then this stays.
AC/DC - Back in Black - Never had, never will.

Anyone not own one of these? Or Operation Mindcrime? got those as well. Mindcrime is an excellent cd. I still remember hearing Eyes of Stranger for the first when i was almost asleep on a college radio station and immediately woke up to hear who that song was by. _________________

It was 'has'. I was editing the first post to change the list. Then started looking at "wait, albums is plural". Changed it for a second, till I realized, 'everyone' is singular. Again. I had a few beers.... Anyway, carry on.
