| Just bought a new guitar! And from a local that makes really, really nice guitar. The guy's name is Larry Burns and he makes L. Burns guitars. They only sell them at one store - where my kids take music lessons (son on Drums, daughter on Piano). I had played all his models (and just about every other guitar they have) and loved the sounds. I played the one I bought up against a similarly prices Fender Strat and this one sounded and felt better. Cool story about the music store - the guy that owns it (Shamrock Music Shoppe) is named Scott Kinney. His brother is Jeff Kiney (author of the Wimpy Kid books). The older bother in the books, Roderick, was based on the guy that owns the shop. He told me that a lot of the stories in the books are based on things that really happened to them growing up - like crazy dancing Mom. BTW - their Mom works their too. Here's a description of the guitar and a pic of it: | |

| I'm going to be trading in my old warhorse guitar in the near future (1979 Gibson Explorer). It's a little more "metal" than I actually need for what I play...and I'm too old to lug the thing around, it's like strapping an oak tree on your shoulder.
I'm looking into a couple possible options for a replacement axe, I'm leaning towards a Paul Reed Smith at the moment. Need something a little more tonally flexible.
I've been playing my acoustic primarily for the past year.
