| The only songs on Mindcrime that stood out to me were Revolution Calling, I Don't Believe In Love, and Eyes Of A Stranger (the latter 2 being some of my favorite Queensryche songs). | |

| Mindcrime was good but I thought Crimson Glory were more Original sounding. | |

| I realize the volume of releases dictates lack of mention for alot of bands. But How could yo forget about Barren Cross' "Atomic Arena" _________________ | |

| It's funny, because I was one of those who goofed on Queensryche, due to their look on "Rage For Order". I think my feeling was based on one song in that of "Gonna Get Close to You". This is why lead singles can be very dangerous for a band. I hadn't heard the E.P or "The Warning", so I was just going off one song and the ridiculous look that they had for "Rage For Order". Queensryche had been the opening band for Metallica when I saw them on the Justice tour in November of '88 in Milwaukee (at the Mecca). My thoughts that night were, I couldn't believe how good this band sounded live, and my God, due I need to take another look at their body of work.
Needless to say, I went out and got "Mindcrime", and played it to death, and then eventually backtracked in their catalog. "Operation Mindcrime" was an easy favorite of mind that year.
1. Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime 2. Fates Warning: No Exit (First Fates album I discovered that same year) 3. Sanctuary: Refuge Denied (I wasn't listening to this album back then. In fact it took me 20+ years before I would latch onto this. Had I been listening to this back in the day, I might have chosen this album) 4. Iron Maidne: Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (I like this album, but never really loved it. I thought this was a drop off for Iron Maiden and their standards, and Adrian Smith obviously felt the same way) 5. Judas Priest: Ram it Down (Not a great Priest record, but I was a Priest fanatic at the time, and at that point the band could do little wrong in the eyes of an impressionable 17 year old) | |

| Damn, I just realized that Ozzy's "No Rest for the Wicked" wasn't part of the voting process. Damn, that would have really been a hard decision for me, though I still probably would have gone with Queensryche. | |
