Overkill's "Feel the Fire" and Celtic Frost's "The Emperor's Return" were actually released in 1985 - not 1986.
***
The "Thrash List" MUST include the following:
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Flotsam & Jetsam - Doomsday for the Deceiver
Nuclear Assault - Game Over
Destruction - Eternal Devastation
Metal Church - The Dark
The "Thrash List" SHOULD include the following:
Carnivore - Carnivore
Onslaught - The Force
Exumer - Possessed by Fire
Sodom - Obsessed by Cruelty
Possessed - Beyond the Gates
OTHERS:
Exciter - Unveiling the Wicked
Razor - Malicious Intent
Tankard - Zombie Attack
Voivod - Rrroooaaarrr
Abattoir - The Only Safe Place

| Metal Church is more of a traditional/power metal band than a thrash metal band to me. The Dark is still a great album, though. | |

all of the above and also a ton from Ult's list, and a bunch of other metal like Candlemass, Fates Warning, Omen and even Queensryche. To me heavy metal was kinda dying by '86, most of the hard rock/heavy metal bands I loved in the early 80's all put out sub par or just plain awful albums. But the thrash and progressive metal bands were hitting their stride and it was all gettin' really good right about now. What an exciting time this was. So many great bands.

| I can't even begin to narrow that down!
But as long as Somewhere in Time and Trilogy are in the heavy metal poll, all will be well in my world.
As for Thrash, too many albums I love, but Skullkrusher got it close enough.

| From the poll choices, I had to go with Cinderella's Night Songs. Might not be as "metal" as some of the other choices, but I've lived with that album for a long, long time. It's a personal favorite. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
