Canadian thrashers Annihilator have a new disc coming out!

NEW ALBUM OUT ON APRIL 16th, 2007 (Europe), APRIL 13th (Germany)

Anybody reading the album title of the latest Annihilator release, Metal, will know what to expect. What we have here is no pseudo-intellectual moniker, no term that suggests pensiveness or indeed ambiguity, but boldness, directness and determination. It’s a title that suits Jeff Waters’ dynamic guitar style down to a tee.

Hope it's better than Schizo Deluze which was ok but not up to my Annihilator standards!

also I don't really go for the name too much, Maybe it's cause Messiah's Kiss have already used "Metal" ?

hopefully it will be like their first two albums.Annihilator Rules!!

apparently is crap but i have not heard it as i cant find it anywhere where it is not overpriced

I saw this thread and I though it was a new thread feat. Annihilator news which in turn I hoped would say that they are no more, sadly I was wrong.

The CD has a few decent cuts. But yeah, it was a big disappointment in general.

Haven't heard it yet. Is it not out in America yet? All I've seen of it are expensive imports...

It's one of the biggest disappointments of the the year so far.
The last two albums were both alright but this one just blows.

Much like Iced Earth, which was discussed on another thread, this is a band that I just can't get into, no matter how hard I try. Jeff Waters is a very talented guitarist, but maybe lack of consistancy with lead singers (as well as other band members) has put me off. I just can't get into this band. And the last few releases just seem to be Jeff Waters grasping at straws, trying to seem relevant.

PS Just to clarify, I DO like Iced Earth.

That shouldn't be that hard. I frequently see a double pack of the first two albums available for about a tenner. I picked it up, it's a good investment.

Yup, Roadrunner released both albums (ALICE IN HELL and NEVER NEVERLAND) in a 2-CD set (part of their "Two From The Vault" reissue series) three or four years ago. I picked it up too, even though I already had NEVER NEVERLAND, cuz I had been looking for ALICE IN HELL on CD for several years prior.

Of course, about a month after I bought it I was looking thru used CDs in a store and what do I find in the used bin for $5.99? You got it, an original press of ALICE IN HELL. D'oh! I hate when that happens.

I'm not expecting much out of this one. Love the first two though.

i picked up the new annihilator album yesterday and here is my opinion

the guitarwork is great!
but the vocals and lyrics kinda suck!!

i am listening to it now and an on the song Army of One which has good guitar but let down by dumb lyrics

i did not pay for it though i bought it with a gift voucher i got for my birthday

and is it me or is the song Detonation a carbon copy of Children of the Grave

the cd cover is pretty cool though i thought
