Ohhh, I forgot FASTWAY and TYGERS OF PAN TANG.

Avenger and Venom we're OK
Iron Maiden are my personal fav from that era

Saxon and Samson too \m/

You didn't like Raven? These guys were some of the fastest around during that time.

Sure it is, I meant that they sound very "hard rocking" or really soft when you compare 'em to Raven or Venom for example.

ATOMKRAFT, VENOM, TANK, RAVEN, WARFARE, BLOOD MONEY, SAMURAI are some of my fave NWOBHM bands. They were a lot heavier then TOKYO BLADE, SAMSON, IRON MAIDEN, or TYGERS OF PAN TANG for exemple, that i love too. HAIL TO THE NWOBHM movement forever.
WRATHCHILD UK is an other fave of mine.

I also like Paul DiAnno's Battlezone.

Of course, their first two albums are great. SHOGUN were great too, with the first TOKYO BLADE vocalist. DESOLATION ANGELS is an other great NWOBHM band.

I really dig Cloven Hoof, Avenger and Atomkraft

And of course, the almighty Satan/Blind Fury and their alternate, more thrashy incarnation Pariah.

Ohh, CLOVEN HOOF were so great. I love their old albums and i was also very happy with their comeback album from last year. A great heavy metal cd.

I didn't list any of what I think are the "worst" NWOBHM bands, but I forgot about these guys - I've always hated them. No offense intended, and to each his own, but that was one band that never did it for me - plus it doesn't help their cause that I'm not much of a "glam" fan.

Another chance to put in a plug for Tyson Dog, who I think count stylisically, despite being more from the mid-80's. A real gritty Priest inspired band. The critic hated them becuase the movement was passe by the time they recorded. Quartz could be great too, and they were almost ahead of the movement chronologically.
There were a lot of over-rated legends here IMO; such as Mythra, and the compilations reveal a lot of amatuerish pomp bands and that sort of thing.

Iron Maiden, Raven, Samson, Venom, Saxon, Holocaust and Diamond Head all rule!!

To be honest, I haven't heard a NWOBHM band yet that I haven't dug...

i actually liked them quite well for what they were. i just never thought they fit in with the rest of the NWOBHM movement.

Yeah, Diamond Head!!! Among my favorites, as well as Girlschool, well, the only thing I have of them is a Hit and Run LP, and it rules!
