| I'll try to find out later, I seem to remember it being the same artist that did the Beneath The Remains album cover....

Roger Dean ? A friend of mine thought it was Dean as well. I thought it didn't look like Dean's style....but it still may be him. The back cover looks kind of Deanish though. I believe I have a beat up vinyl copy somewhere in my house....need to find it.

| Thanks Spec, I couldn't find a scan large enough to read the liners when I looked.

Last night I tried to look for a large enough pic of the back... online. Failed. My copy of the lp is still in Calif. _________________

| I still have this on vinyl, I noticed the CD copy (which I do not own) has a different cover, I wonder why they changed it. | |

The first 2 Uriah Heep albums had different covers in the UK and the US. The US seemed to be focused on making them even "scarier". Debut album (called Very 'Eavy, Very 'umble" in the UK UK Cover US Cover Salisbury UK Cover (there is a military base at Salisbury, thus the UK cover is more "accurate" to what inspired it) US Cover |

| Thanks I knew that debut album had a different cover and even slightly track listing and title.
The second album 'Salisbury' had no idea had a different album cover, I still have my original copy of this album since I have not replaced it on CD yet.

| The tracklisting on Salisbury is also different in the US and UK.
UK Version
1. Bird Of Prey 2. The Park 3. Time To Live 4. Lady In Black 5. High Priestess 6. Salisbury
US Version
1. High Priestess 2. The Park 3. Time To Live 4. Lady In Black 5. Simon The Bullet Freak 6. Salisbury
There are actually 2 different recordings of the song Bird Of Prey. The original version wasn't released in the UK, but was included on the US version of the debut. The song was then re-recorded during the Salisbury sessions for inclusion on that album, but since a version had already been released in the States they swapped in "Simon The Bullet Freak".
The deluxe CD remasters have both versions (one on the debut, one on Salisbury)

Thanks for the info, I had no idea 'Bird of Prey' had been re-recorded, I have a Uriah Heep boxset 'A Time for Revelation' which makes no mention of this fact.

| I love that weird catapillar monster album cover.
It's a gatefold album so you get the whole creature.
