I believe that would be Junior Ellefson. Friedman, on the other hand, has apparently turned Japanese. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

From what I understand, he denies the Holy Trinity. Would that still make him "Christian"? I don't know. He doesn't actually mention anything about that in his book. He was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and struggled with a lot of JW cult doctrine, so it's not impossible that he could deny the deity of Christ or the personality of the Holy Spirit. He says he is trusting in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and that it was through Him that he finally has that peace that he was always searching for. Sounds to me like God is working on him, so I can't and won't judge him based on his doctrine, especially since I'm not really sure where he stands on that issue. I tried to find the video where I heard him say this, unless I'm completely tripping out and it was someone else. Perhaps you're right Ult, the JW's might still have some influence over his thinking on the Trinity if that's the case.

| Excellent book! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If I may, I'd like to recommend Mark Farner's authorized biography "From Grand Funk To Grace". I read this book twice. I think you'd like it.

| Wow, it looks like we're already going to get a second edition on Dave's memoirs. He feels like the book kind of left us with an ambiguous end, so he wants to add the stuff in about David Ellefson's return to the band and the "Big 4" reuniting. Sounds cool, but I don't think I will be purchasing this, as I've already got the hardback. I will probably go into my local book store and have a sit down to finish off the extra chapters.

| I looked for this in the local Barnes & Noble last weekend, but they didn't have it in stock. I was gonna order it on-line, but maybe now I'll just wait for the 2nd edition. Maybe they'll just tack on an extra chapter or 2 in the paperback version. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I have the hardcover but if the "updated" one turns up at the local library, I'll borrow it so I can read the bonus material. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I had a question to anyone who has read Mustaine's book, I have not read it as yet, but someone on FB sent me a Instant message that Mustaine became a Christian because of Alice Cooper witnessed to him, I will eventually read the book but I find this interesting, maybe because I am such a huge Alice fan, I also have been told Alice has helped Ozzy, Marilyn Manson and other rockers, if this true then Alice must keep this to himself since I never heard him mention any of this type of work in his interviews. | |

| I'd have to go digging back into the book to re-read the bits dealing with Alice, but I do vaguely remember Mustaine calling Alice his "godfather" in the book. I think it had more to do with Alice helping him on the road to sobriety rather than Christianity though, but I could be wrong.

That's how I remember it as well, though I am sure Alice being such a big influence on Mustaine personally might have had an influence on his decision to become a Christian as well. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

He talks about Alice two or three times in the book. He talks about Alice's road to sobriety and how Alice just put his faith in Christ, and how he quit alcohol just because of that relationship with Christ. Dave didn't believe that could happen, but then divulged that miracles can come into people's lives when someone has a relationship with Christ. Dave's problem as it pertained to sobriety was two fold; he fought off the idea of having Christ in his life for a very long time, and he didn't want to bare his soul in any kind of group endeavor. I think the other thing that was a huge breaking point in Dave's recovery was a phone call that he made to his wife Pam, concerning the kids, her, his career, and his well being. Needless to say, the phone call scared her, it obviously scared him, and was a catalyst in beating his addictions. The one thing that remains odd is, through all the drug problems, the hard core drinking, Dave still will drink wine. I can't remember his explanation regarding why he feels that this isn't a problem, but it is interesting.

| I read it when it first came out and finished it in about two days. It was an interesting read and Dave seems honest about his problems. I would have like more discussion of the actual making of the various albums but that was really outside the subject matter of the book. | |

| I bought the book and i finished reading it and i liked it but its a little to much about his drugs addictions etc...and little about music, about some of his influences, his fave records and important stuff like that, and like WITCHFINDER said, more discussion of the actual making of the albums. | |

| Mariane Jacobsen interviewed all of the past & present members that she possibly could/had acces to; that were open to it, from approx 2007-2009.
She also ran Dave Ellefson's websites during this time, when he was in F5, until there was a falling out between them as he allowed porn ads to get revenue,, and then later she instead became a huge Mustaine supporter because he granted one hospital patient/sick child a favour (sort of like Make A Wish) that boosted her charity.
She had a LOT of information, and after approaching Mustaine & giving him the draft of all that was said so far, she was never given an answer back if acceptable, and he never signed a release form, or an interview to complete the full Megadeth history.
Mariane finally gave away the whole work to some diehard 'deth fan. About 1 or 2 years later I read that Dave is writing his own book finally...
something very strange about it all, as it looked like she was going to do a complete history and if you are a fanboy, you already know some of the real dirt, but the majority of fans never will.
I asked for it, and she also promised, FULL details of all recording sessions.
Guess, Mr Mustaine likes to be in control of his history too, and not the way others know what it really is.

From what I understand, he denies the Holy Trinity. Would that still make him "Christian"? Are you thinking of Neal Morse? He is pretty outspoken about the fact that he doesn't believe in the Trinity, which he says is not biblical.

| I just finished it a couple of days ago. I found it very interesting and enjoyable. He seems pretty honest in the book. You can tell he really has a new-found love for making music. He's totally re-energized and in a good place in his life, which is cool. I enjoyed reading about his conversion to becoming a Christian. He's honest about it, stating that he's far from perfect but he's more sure of himself than before. Really good stuff. I found it to be a very quick read. I wish him all the best. | |
