| Anyone read the Dave Mustaine biography? I devoured it in only a few days. Great reading. It goes into great detail about his struggles with family, drugs, alcohol, Metallica, religion, etc.
Anyone else read it? Thoughts? _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I've read it through twice now...it was a great read. Lots of funny stories, but a few tragic bits as well.
It was cool to (briefly) meet Dave at a book signing for it too. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Not yet. I was hoping Santa would bring it, but the jolly fat man failed to deliver. Thankfully, I've got gift cards to spend. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | He goes into pretty great detail about his conversion to Christianity as well. As much as I had read about Mustaine over the past decades I never knew about his family's involvement in the Jehovah's Witness cult. That really messed him up for some time. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Great read and far better than any other "Christian Conversion" testimony I have ever read - his finding God comes across as real and a a man trying to find his way with God as opposed to the typical "Found God, now I am a religious zelot" type books | |

| It's a great read. Like Freddy mentioned there are some funny parts and some sad parts. I'd recommend it to anyone who was curious about reading it. | |

Him and Alice seem to be down to earth in their Christian conversion and also in their beliefs, they do not pretend to be perfect or that they have all the answers, I guess the word I am looking for, is blessed, they seem to feel they have been blessed, if that statement makes sense.

| It's on my list, I have yet to pick it up. I'm kind of expecting bits of history to be conveniently warped by Mustaine's bias, but that's just me being cynical. _________________ | |

I got that same vibe from Johnny Cash when I read his autobiography as well. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Loved it, a very honest read about a man's struggle in life that doesn't paint christianity with a rosed colored, best life now, brush. |

| It was a great read I did hear that the book had to be adjusted here and there for legal reasons too bad but I still liked it and I did like seeing his insight on the whole Metallica thing and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame | |

From what I understand, he denies the Holy Trinity. Would that still make him "Christian"?

From what I understand, he denies the Holy Trinity. Would that still make him "Christian"? I don't know. He doesn't actually mention anything about that in his book. He was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and struggled with a lot of JW cult doctrine, so it's not impossible that he could deny the deity of Christ or the personality of the Holy Spirit. He says he is trusting in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and that it was through Him that he finally has that peace that he was always searching for. Sounds to me like God is working on him, so I can't and won't judge him based on his doctrine, especially since I'm not really sure where he stands on that issue. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

In the book he sez something about trying to talk Marty into adopting a stage name when he joined the band, cuz Dave thought "Marty Friedman" sounded kinda dorky and not "metal" enough. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

He also admitted to messing with black magic too if memory serves and that plagued him for years too, Im with Ult on this, though from my reading and perception I dont think he denies the Holy Trinity Now is it Friedman or is it Junior who is also a Christian?
