Yes, one of the gods of Sleazy metal. I dont know if we can put AEROSMITH in that list because they were a very big influence on all those SLEAZY bands from the late 80s, specialy. Of course AEROSMITH played more heavy rock in their early days but they had a touch of Sleazy in their looks and attitude. They were dirty lol.

I probably wouldn't. But you know, sleaze is one of those genres that has it's distinct bands that are clearly sleaze, and then other bands that could probably fit in the sleaze category and the straight up 80's rock/hard rock category. Either way, both styles are really similar, I think. |

| I would consider AEROSMITH one of the "forefathers" of the sleaze metal genre....as well as a bulk of ALICE COOPER material (Billion Dollar Babies, Killer, Love It To Death)...
MOTLEY CRUE's earlier efforts I would consider sleazeas well....
Ther were a ton of hair metal/glam bands that had touches of sleaze to their sound and image...KIX would be one of those...in my opinion. _________________ "Oh man, I need TV? When I got T Rex"

| This is my favourite genre of music fullstop. Hey Ult you should check out these 2 albums they are classics of the gritty sleaze metal genre of the late 80's and early 90's. Sea Hags - Sea Hags (1989) Brilliant 70's steeped Aerosmith sleaze metal from Seattlites transplanted to San Francisco. A gritty Faster Pussycat vibe to it but better than the aforementioned band, also an underlying darkness to it. Kirk Hammett produced their demo and Ian Astbury of the Cult expressed interest in producing the debut but Mike Clink (Producer of Appetite For Destruction) produced it. The band self destructed after this as their manager said "theres only so far you can get with 3 junkies and an alcoholic. Should of been Guns N' Roses slayers. Sea Hags - Half The Way Valley https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fMvsJRga_8 Love/Hate - Wasted In America (1992) Could have picked their first Blackout In The Red Room (1990) but this just takes the cake as Love/Hate's definative release. One of the greatest bands ever, LA sleazy blues based metal with funky basslines and a punk thrashing to it. Singer Jizzy Pearl has got one of the most distinctive voices in all of hard rock. Played with AC/DC, Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Skid Row, Guns N' Roses. Another should of been huge band. And noted Metal author/expert Martin Popoff ranks this album as his #12 favourite Metal/Hard Rock album of all time (He must have listened to 10's of 1000's of Metal albums). Love/Hate - Happy Hour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJXySelvhqo | |

| Here's some that may or may not fit, depending on whether we are going more by sound or image.
Balaam and the Angel (used to be a goth band at one time!) The Big F The Front/Bakers Pink
And about the sleaziest old school Glam rock album, 16 and Savaged by Silverhead.

| Oh yeah The Front, what a brilliant band they were critisized for being a Cult knock off but their is so much else going on. The Big F and Balaam And The Angel are both brilliant bands in a way you could call them alternative sleaze metal bands of the 80's but not sleaze as in Faster Pussycat or LA Guns. | |

| I saw the Sea Hags at L'amour in Brooklyn NY back in my college days... they were a pretty awful live band, if memory serves...my friends and I left halfway through their set... Love/Hate were a FANTASTIC band! I miss them terribly. BLACKOUT IN THE RED ROOM is still one of my all time favorites, WASTED IN AMERICA is an excellent disc too. They got a little hit-and-miss on subsequent CDs though. I saw them live a few times as well, always an excellent live band (though there was always so much weed smoke in the air at their shows that I'd go home with a contact high, haha) | |

I should have clarified that my friends and I did like the Sea Hags album at the time we went to see them, which is why we were so disappointed that they were such a crappy live band.

| Sleaze is a style of glam....a little grittier...sloppier...dirtier....
And I have been thinking about it off and on today...I am going to make the bold statement that the first "sleaze" band...to have any sort of large audience/following would be THE ROLLING STONES....while they started off as a modest blues cover band much like their mates THE BEATLES...the STONES got darker and grittier...and if EXILE ON MAIN STREET, STICKY FINGERS and BEGGARS BANQUET are not masterpieces of sleaze, then I don't know what is..... _________________ "Oh man, I need TV?
