I doubt it. That's a typical, bohemian artist attitude. Of course, it was easy to say once he was already rich, but there is a bit of truth in it. _________________ FINAL SIGN

I doubt it. That's a typical, bohemian artist attitude. Of course, it was easy to say once he was already rich, but there is a bit of truth in it. That's my point. It's a typical bohemian artist (aka hippie) attitude from at least 30 years ago. Purely speculation on my part, but as times, attitudes and technology changed, so might his opinion of "free music". Paul McCartney has that free love mentality too, but he's pretty darn protective of the Beatles past catalog, as well a Yoko (who John would've divorced long ago by now). Like allot of those artists of his generation, John still would probably be making music, but in reality, living off the fat of his back catalog. When those royalty checks stop rolling in, you might begin to question who "owns" your music. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. said the dead person who recently sold their toilet for thousands of dollars. Lennon didn't sell anything, since he is in fact dead. And, in all honesty, I think Lennon was enough of a rebel and an individual to maintain his attitude about ownership of music to this day, were he still alive. Like I said, he was already well off when he made the comment. But having money doesn't preclude one from having an artistic point of view. Part of sharing music is, in a way, giving it away. "I" wrote this song, it's "mine", but by sharing it with you and letting it be heard, "I" am essentially giving it away to you. It's no longer "mine", but "ours"...it came from "me" but we both can love and appreciate it. _________________ FINAL SIGN
