| Maybe some of you can help me. What is the big deal with the John Deere brand? I see it everywhere down here. There's even a life size pickup around town that is painted like a Deere tractor. The last straw was when I saw John Deere fruit snacks at the local Walmart. Maybe this is a local thing..... Is this another way that redneck-dom is slowly taking control of our popular culture from the gays? |

| Don't be dissin' the John Deere! My five year old has a diecast toy John Deere tractor that he loves more than life itself!! (He likes to recreate the "tractor tippin'" scene from "Cars")
Seriously tho... as for why they're suddenly merchandising the hell out of the brand... your guess is as good as mine. I guess they figured they'd cash in since Jeff Foxworthy made it so cool to be "redneck" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Hilarious! Today you must decide, are you throwing your hat in with the John Deeriers or the Festives? I wonder what's the big deal too. I have an Aunt (in Ohio) who collects all that stuff. However, she grew up on a farm, is a real-live farm-girl to this day. I lived with her and my uncle in the Summer of 96. She was always a housewife but she told me one regret she had is that she didn't have a job. Her dream job? You know those giant mowing machines that mow the grass/fields along the highways? Her dream job is to do that!! She literally drives John Deer equipment every day of her life, so I guess that's one thing. Spectre. Embrace the Red-Neck way of life. I'm not embracing it yet, but I'm bracing for it. I'm just waiting for the day when my daughters are dating Colt and Tanner and Austin!! (I make fun of the guys here in W. Texas about their sub-culture. I work with a LOT of so-called red-necks, but they're the hard working, polite "give you the shirt off their back" type). If you go to The Cracker Barrell you can buy all manner of John Deer collectibles. | |

| I bought a John Deere and they gave me a bunch several hats and t-shirts. My-ex was from the Moline Ill. area, so John Deere was the dominant industry down there. The main drag there is John Deere road. | |

| See, I must be a city slicker. There is absolutely no John Deere merch around. I mean yeah, if I drive out to agricultural areas I'll see some tractors, but that's about it. | |

| Back in the band days that was my nickname, I was John Deere, our guitarist was Teen Wolf, he was one hairy dude, the drummer was Baby D & singer was Steve Perry. I was the most redneck of the bunch so the name fit. | |
