| Overkill - Ironbound (this rocks) Exodus - Exhibit B (good thrash) Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier (seems quite mellow in parts, more like hard rock) Death Angel - Relentless Retribution (really enjoying this) | |

This a special, metal, feminine product? Yeah yeah... Kodex... Kotex... you already made that joke in the dedicated thread. On a side note, the new Virgin Steele is out now. Should be killer!

That beating of a dead horse reminds me of a line from a TV show: Father: No use beating a dead w*ore Son: You mean a dead horse? Father: No, what kind of sicko beats a dead horse?

| I'll take Vince Neil's Tattoos and Tequila, Ratt's Infestation, and '77's 21st Century Rock (not sure of when that actually came out, but it was new to me)
I was slightly disappointed with Airbourne's No Guts, No Glory, but all in all, it was a good album.
also disappointed with Slash's album, yea it has some good songs, just a little confused on it's identity. Maybe it should have been a tribute album of sorts or an album for all the vocalists. I just find it hard to see Slash on it, with just his guitar playing. Maybe he should make an album with no vocals....I just can't stand half the singers on his album.

| I have a top 10 ready (almost definatly subject to change):
Avantasia-Wicked Symphony (IMO the best of the new Avantasia albums)
H.E.A.T.-Freedom Rock (not enough to knock out Avantasia from the top spot but enough to spit it up)
Avantasia-Angel Of Babylon (the weaker of the two but still a great album)
Pretty Maids-Pandamonium (I'm a new convert to this band but this album is enough to gain a top spot)
James LaBrie-Static Impulse (James never disappoints me-unlike Dream Theater-and this album is no exception)
Accept-Blood Of The Nations (albums hyped up as much as this are usually a disappointment but this album exceeded expectations)
Circle II Circle-Consequence Of Power (unlike the last one which didn't make the top 10, this one might actually make it this year)
Kamelot-Poetry For The Poisoned (Kamelot are back for me and re-freshened the stink that Ghost Opera left)
Flotsam And Jestsam (lost track of them a while back but this album has brought me back)
Sons Of Liberty-Brushfires Of The Mind (I agree with Joe about this being better than the last two IE discs and Jon's vocals suprised me with how good he is)

| My two favorite releases this year have both been concert DVDs.
Opeth - Live At Royal Albert Hall Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize
I expect Steven Wilson's Insurgentes film to jump onto that list as well.

| Just placed an order of NEVERMORE - THE OBSIDIAN CONSPIRACY limited box set. I have been listening to the new songs on youtube, and they are dam good. This is one of the best albums of the year so far.
The list of great albums and albums that are a must from this year has been the craziest in the last 4 years

Can't wait.

The Insurgentes DVD is already available for pre-order from Burning Shed. It's a documentary film directed by Lasse Holle, about the making of the solo album. |
