Megadeth They may not have gone "grunge", but they sure did go from killer to SUCK in record time. |

They lost the bullet belts and bought flannel.

| I think they succumbed to the change of sound even if they didn't go grunge. |

When Nirvana got huge Pantera made Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven. Nah. Once grunge came out, Pantera saw the trend, washed their makeup off, stopped teasing their hair and started to act all tough.

| Seems it was the European power metal bands that didn't change. Metal Church kept on but it was very sporadic. |

Rage may not have gone grunge, but they started their steady decent into ultra-crap during the same time period. |

| 'Chameleon' vs Grunge would be some debate... US, you dislike 'The Missing Link' and 'Black in Mind'? Is it the symphonic stuff afterwards you mean you dislike or you hate these two also? Because those are '93 and '95 and I think two of their best, and nothing modern about either except a better production. | |

Rage was one of the world's truly great speed metal bands. Just my taste, but I would have been more than fine with Perfect Man Parts II-whatever. The Accused [just an example] have not changed in 25 years and neither have I [ok, not totally true. But my main musical tastes have not changed.]. Of course, we do not all live in Uncle Saxon's Utopia though. |

Well, technically, you could call "Gruntruck" the temporary side-step of The Accused. Though I will admit that they were totally kick ass live. Now I wanna hear MORE FUN THAN AN OPEN CASKET FUNERAL! |

| Honestly, there were a lot of hair bands that kept going as well (or band lumped into that genre) that didn't really change. Great White, Tesla, and Poison all come to mind. Sure, their sound matured a bit, but they didn't change who they were. Aerosmith was rather unaffected, as well. U.D.O. didn't give a hoot, either! Arttie | |
