| I can't comment on Ben's ability's as a bass player, but I'll always remember when I saw him with Soundgarden, opening up for Guns n' Roses back in the early '90s. We had no idea who Soundgarden was at the time, as did most of the GnR crowd. I remember seeing this skinny guy with short hair jumping up and down like a lunatic, pounding away on his low-slung bass and HATING IT. When they were done their set, we were all like "Wow, those guys sucked. The lead singer had some pipes, but what the f*ck was with the rest of that band?" As for favortie grunge bass player, I'll pick Mike Inez or Mike Starr from Alice in Chains. Whichever one wrote the opening bass riff to 'Them Bones'. Love that song. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

I like grunge quite a bit, actually... the soundtrack to my early 20 college years... at least the original stuff was good. As with any movement, you get alot of posers after a while, In the mid to late 90's you began to see some crappy "post" grunge bands pop up. Metal went through that phase too... for a while in the late 80's, there were alot of crappy metal bands too. | |
