It is hardly fair to throw in one bandwagon speed metal album from a non-speed metal band [although, it IS one of the greatest albums ever!!] into this conversation when there are a ton a great actual speed metal bands out there [like Agent Steel or EvilDead] that made speed metal for a living. Speed metal. |

| hm, speed metal. It seems like the definition is a little opinionated in the thread. I always saw 'DFTD' as definitely more thrash, 'Painkiller' something like traditional/power/speed, not unlike say Running Wild. The Powermad album, which I didn't list but is a great album, is indeed a very good example of speed metal.... Here's one I should have mentioned...  | |
