I Think Queen was so well ahead of their contemporaries at the time they were really making some good music.
Best : JAZZ ('Jealousy' is My all time fave ballad)
Worst : Hot Space

Agreed. But every album is worth checking out, including Hot Space...although certain Hot Space songs, especially "Back Chat," sound much better on the "Live at the Bowl" album and video.
I think Jazz is really underrated. "Dead on Time" is a little known heavy metal monster...along with "Let Me Entertain You." I also really dig "Leaving Home Ain't Easy." Brian can write some really gut-wrenching, emtional stuff.

I like most of Queen's albums, there's really only a few that I don't enjoy (The Miracle, Hot Space, Flash Gordon, Made In Heaven). I don't get in the mood to jam them much anymore, but when the mood hits I always enjoy it.

I like "The Miracle" quite a bit. There are two standout tracks, "I Want it All" and the very heavy "Was It All Worth It." I'd say those two tracks, along with "The Hitman," "Headlong," "The Show Must Go On," and the title track from Innuendo are as strong as the material from the band's heyday.
Other than that, and a couple of other 80's songs (Tear It Up, Princes of the Universe, etc.) the 70's albums are definitely best. I particularly think the S/T and "Sheer Heart Attack" albums are underrated.

Hard to name a least favorite because I am only familiar with everything through The Game. They lost me after that. Those first seven albums are mostly gold. I agree with the "avoid-the-greatest-hits" sentiment. Most of their best tunes are the deeper cuts. "Prophet Song" off of Night at the Opera is one of my all-time favorites. Incredible vocal overdubbing in the middle. Very innovative for the time.

The majority of my favorite Queen songs were not singles or hits and thus never show up on those collection discs. I hate Greatest Hits collections generally.

There were three Queen compilations released last years - Deep Cuts 1-3, which comprise of songs that weren't hits (I think they were chosen by the band themselves). Opinions over just which songs should have been included may differ e.g. The Prophet's Song isn't on there, but they decent enough if you're looking to explore the band beyond the obvious songs.

I like The Miracle too; i think it's their best sounding album; i mean the production's great, the guitars sound very good and the drums are huge. I really like the first 2 songs:Party/Kashoggy's Ship. I also like Scandal and the title track.

Apparently there's a rumor circulating that American Idol contestant (winner?), the fabulous Adam Lambert is going to front Queen for a tour this summer.
This could turn out to be the worst of Queen.

They should just do a residency in Vegas, they've kind of hit that low of a point in their career. Maybe they can share billing with that other has-been act getting ready to do a Vegas show...Motley Crue.

In all seriousiness (I know, that's a rareity for me), I wouldn't be surprised to see other bands follow that route and sign on to be the "house band" for a month or so in a casino. Steady gig, decent money. I could see a trend starting.

There have been persistent Queen/Lambert rumors ever since Queen appeared on Idol with him a couple of years ago.
It would probably work. Dude's got the voice for it.

Yea, I seem to remember that. Blabbermouth posted this story the other day, which is why I brought it up. The rumor seems to be building some steam...

Just because the dude has the chops to sing Queen songs doesn't mean he should. Someone should crack Brian May upside the head if this happens.

Besides, shouldn't Brian May have some Astro-Physicist-ing to do somewhere? He's totally letting that doctorate of his go to waste.

After the Paul Rodgers and Queen fizzled out, then Brian May and Roger Taylor should let the Queen name rest, its not like they need the money at this point.

I'm going to commit mainstream music blasphemy and say that I like it better than the overplayed (though not necessarily overrated) Bohemian Rhapsody. Because, after all, that's the only track Queen ever recorded...

The Prophet Song is a more impressive arrangement really and a better song. That was the nice thing about becoming a Queen fan in the 70's, MANY of their songs were played on the radio, Bohemian Rhapsody was just one of them.
It wasn't until the Wayne's World thing happened that it became "the" socially accepted Queen song.
