I'd have to agree and say I enjoy Malevolent Creation way more than Cannibal corpse.

| I don't care if you guys scorch me for the rest of my life, I just straight up don't like CC. I used to, but now I feel embarrassed. But all things aside, Death Metal's not all bad. I like In Flames, Children of Bodom (if you can consider them Death Metal), Morbid Angel, and Death (of course). Sorry, but CC ain't that good in my opinion, to me all there song are just screaming. But you can't argue with the artwork though, thats some brutal sh*t. | |

| I was into them in the beginning. I have the first three on cassette. After that I just lost interest in them. After that I got really burnt out on about all death metal and a lot of bands I've just never kept up with. I'm still curious about them just not willing to go buy newer ones from them knowing I probably won't be that crazy about it. | |

So I'm not the greatest speller in the world, sue me. Reminds me. Back in high school in lebanon, my best friend was a french dude from paris. And the weirdest thing was that he always failed in french!!! Used to teach him his grammar and spelling...

| WHOOOAARGHH!!!! I've really been listening to some extreme metal lately - and Cannibal Corpse really stands out as one of the better traditional death metal bands around. Any other fans here? What are your favorite albums? | |

| I'm a fan. I like the Barnes stuff pretty good. Never got to see them live with him though. I do like the Corpsegrinder era of the band as well. Vile, Kill and Evisceration Plague are all really good. | |

I still need to get all their stuff, but out of what I've heard/picked up, "Evisceration Plague" is my fave. the production on that album KILLS! Plus the guitar is fantastic and the vocals aren't your 'typical, run-of-the-mill' death vox. Very unique.

They tend to draw from both the old school and some of the newer br000tal stuff, and sometimes people won't name drop them because they are known/obvious, but your statement stands correct. I have lyrical issues and thusly am not a fan, but if that wasn't in the way they would be on the playlist all the time.

| By the way, thanks for blending my thread in with this old one. (Whoever did that)
I don't like to post in the RIP section on new things, as most people don't seem to check that forum.

It doesn't matter to me though, as I'm the kind of person who listens to something for the music and the music alone. Whether I agree with the lyrics or not.

| Yeah, Death Metal is not mentioned too much around here that I can tell. I have had CC cds oof and on over the years but always seem to trade them back in. (Actually had the Bleeding twice....)I love most genres of DM (well, of metal period really). The DM bands I am listening to the most right now are: --Nile --Decrepit Birth (can't wait for the new one) --Fractured Insanity --the Faceless --Disavowed --Hour of Penance --Inveracity --Malevolent Creation --Deeds of Flesh --Unmerciful --old Brutality, Monstrosity, Benediction, Cancer, etc | |

| As far as death metal in general goes, my favorite bands are:
1. Amon Amarth 2a. Cannibal Corpse 2b. Morbid Angel 3. Behemoth 4. Arch Enemy 5. Nile 6. Obituary 7. In Flames 8. Dark Tranquility 9. Nightrage
and on and on ... I really like this genre.
I think it's funny. I have very expansive taste in music, and a lot of times people call me out on all kinds of mellow stuff I like (pop, goth, synthpop, alternative, punk, etc).
Yet I probably like death and black metal - and extreme metal in general moreso than anyone here (except for MC666 of course). So even though I like a lot of 'non-metal' stuff - I like heavier stuff than most of the metalheads here do LOL.

Whether I agree with the lyrics or not. No, not satanic, there are just certain topics I don't see the point of writing brutal thrashing music to. Music is the same as a woman to me. If you decide to offend the **** out of me on a regular basis, or if we are just not a team on some really essential issues, out you go.

All their album covers creep me out and that was the reason I never got into them before. Nowadays I look at them as comedy. I wouldn't have them laying around for my son to see though. Or the inlaws for that matter. - manny wrote:
