So true.
Their music is VERY, VERY indulgent I think.
A lot of progressive stuff is...
But the best prog has tight, specifically-crafted, focused arrangements a la DREAM THEATER, FATES WARNING, CYNIC, etc. Meandering around at the listener's peril is not acceptable in good prog any more than it is in any other genre.
All based on personal taste/opinion...there is no measuring stick.

TQT is progressive in thought and ideas... they don't need to be necessarily "Dream Theater" to be progressive.

rofl @ Dream Theater being in the same pool as FW and Cynic in terms of arrangements. Dream Theater is the genesis of Between the Buried and Me, which is an example of a band throwing literally everything at the wall at all times and 10% of it sticking. I would put say Zero Hour in there...maudlin of the Well...but not DT. Not even the early stuff, yeah it's better, but it isn't awe-inspiring or anything..

I'll def. be buying the new TQT. But the Tediquet I migh pass on.
Would not surprise me if they were going indie. To be recording in Summer and have it out immediately sounds like indie to me.
Getting Neil Kernon tells me otherwise. He's too expensive for TWT's own wallets

I used to really like this band....Then after being a member of Firestream a while bcak and seeing firsthand what a gaping bunghole their singer is/can be...soured me on them....

I don't agree with him most of the time but that has 0% to do with my general disinterest in their new efforts.
I don't expect all players in every metal band to be my best friend and agree with me in every way in order to enjoy their music and support their efforts. I don't buy music for personal reasons.
