OVERKILL vs. SLAYER

Personally I love both albums and have loved both bands from their beginnings. To me, it feels as though both bands have re-captured their aggression. It's just a little more so for Overkill. So I have to (narrowly) vote for Ironbound. Now "BRING ME THE NIGHT!"

While I really do like "Iron Bound" I went with Slayer.

Then again, Overkill are one of my favourite thash bands - I never understood all the hupla about Slayer, though I do enjoy some of their songs.

This sums it up for me as well. Overkill slays Slayer. Overkills worst album is better then Slayers best IMO. I do dig a few songs here and there.

Tough choice to decide between the two, so I voted 'They both rule equally!'.

It's not a totally equal comparison, to me, since Slayer is a much more brutal style of thrash, whereas Overkill is more of a groovy style.

I like them both but chose Overkill's Ironbound. That CD held my attention far longer than Slayer's World Painted Blood. Also, I really hate the guitar tone on WPB.

I voted Ironbound. I think the songs are better than those on WPB.

Wow, what a landslide.

Looks like this board sides with Overkill, overall.

I have to wonder how many voted AGAINST Slayer's "World Painted Blood" because they honestly feel that "Ironbound" truly surpasses it in creativity/artistry and so forth. And how many voted the same way just because they are Christians and Slayer is 'openly' Slaytanic and anti-Christian. Assuming, of course, that we are not overly concerned with production quality.

I voted for Overkill because they are one of my favorite bands and everything about Ironbound is gold. Also it would be noted that I would've voted against Slayer regardless of the album because frankly IMO they blow...

I'm positive there's some truth to this.

I like both of the albums.

I think World Painted Blood is a more solid album overall, but it's a close one.

I apparently voted, but I can't remember who I went with. I guess that just means I like them both quite a bit.
