Wouldn't FW and Crimson Glory fall more into the prog-metal catagory. Not to start a genre war here and I know there is crossover but that's how i've thought of them.

Riot - Thundersteel
a total American power metal masterpiece.
Riot might be more of a 'classic metal' band. But this album was sheer and total power metal might!!!

I love power metal. American and European styled. It's my favorite genre. Bar none.

I've always thought of 80s progressive metal as power metal with odd time changes. Bands like Fates Warning, Crimson Glory and Queensrÿche were power metal in the 80s, if you ask me.

Wow, power metal straddles alot of band I wouldn't nessarilly classify as power metal. But that's just me. Here's my vote:
1) VIRGIN STEELE!!!- Noble Savage is my choice for top pick.
2) Manowar- Sign of the Hammer, Kings of Metal, Triumph of Steel
3) Omen- Battle Cry
4) Theoracy- I thought they were European when I first heard them.
5) Sanctuary
6) Liege Lord
7) Metal Church

Love most of these bands. The only one band I did not see mentioned but really love (at least I spin their discs just as often as, two of my favs, Metal Church/Armored Saint) is: FORTE. Any other fans?

Some good ones already listed.
I'd like to add HAVEN - Your Dying Day & Age of Darkness.
and unless I missed it, MELIAH RAGE - Masquerade.

Unfortunatly, the Fires Of Babylon is a mostly forgettable album for me. Apart from the first song I can't recall any others even after listening to the album.

Aargh, how could I forget Virgin Steele?! Great band. My favorite VS discs are Invictus, Age of Consent, and the two Marriage of Heaven and Hell discs, although the first two discs are amazing as well. A Cry in the Night is one of my favorite ballads.

I like your vocals a lot. The music is a bit too "all over the place" for my taste I'm afraid. But still, mad propz for the vokills.
Gave Deadly Blessing's debut a spin last night. It had to grow on me quite a lot, but now I really like it. Ski's vocals are amazing.
