| TED NUGENT's 'Love Grenade' Due In August Quote message Gary Graff of Billboard.com reports: A 40th anniversary re-recording of the AMBOY DUKES hit "Journey to the Center of the Mind" is among the highlights of "Love Grenade", TED NUGENT's first set of new material in five years.
The 13-song set, co-produced by NIGHT RANGER's Jack Blades, Nugent's partner in the long-dormant DAMN YANKEES, is due in August on Eagle Rock. The title track, which is the album's first single, is slated to premiere on Friday.
In typical hyperbolic fashion, the Motor City Madman tells Billboard.com that "Love Grenade" "is an absolute representation of where I am on all levels. We come from the old school of sh*tkicker, R&B-driven, grinding guitar lovemaster. When you hear it, you're gonna just smile, close your eyes and go, 'Nugent!' It's such a classic piece of what we were brought up on."

What has he done since the 70's that's ruled, "Fred Frekin' Bear"?! I can make you an excellent compilation of JUST material from the 1980's that is excellent! His 80's stuff is vastly underrated IMO. Oh, and yes, Fred Bear is great. I also thought that "Craveman" was quite good. I listen to it regularly. Then there are the live recordings! Nugent excels on the stage. Full Bluntal Nugity is GREAT!

I'm pissed they never did anything more than a few demos with that thing. Lame. Me too! You'd think they would've at least released that stuff as a single or an EP or whatever. I loved that show!! (though my opinion of Sebastian Bach eroded a little bit more after each episode, hahaha) I wish they'd release that series on DVD, or throw another batch of musicians together for a season 2!

| I liked Craveman. Although I'm a bigger fan of his 70's output, I'd be willing to give this new one a chance. I think Ted knows what he does best and gives his fans what they want. | |

| OK, well, I like him. You don't have to. Scream Dream (Epic) 1980 One of his best IMO!Nugent (Atlantic) 1982 a great album IMO. Tailgunner is easily as good as anything from the 70's.Penetrator (Atlantic) 1984 Little Miss Dangerous (Atlantic) 1986 If You Can't Lick 'Em-Lick 'Em (WEA) 1988 I can see why some fans may not like these albums. They certainly have a more 80's sound, but hey IT WAS THE 80's! All of these albums have some GREAT songs on them. Some that come to mind are If You Can't Lick 'Em, Funlover, Spread Your Wings, Painkiller, Little Miss Dangerous...Spirit of the Wild (Atlantic) 1995 a return to the classic Nugent sound. Fred Bear came off this album. Not sure why you hate this song, but I like it.Full Bluntal Nugity (Spitfire) 2001 LOVE IT! Easily one of my favorite live albums. Ted Nugent - Craveman (Spitfire) 2002 Like I said, I like this album a lot. It's probably Ted's heaviest and most greasy album. It doesn't get more Nugent than "Crave" and "Wardogs". | |

| Ult, it wasn't the 80's sound that turned me off, it was the mediocre music, it just wasn't that good, it wasn't horrible, just kind of lame when stacked up to his older material. It was recieving some airplay cause he's "the Nuge", just like Ozzy's lame efforts still sell, he's "OZZY"! | |

| Dang! I'd like to watch that video of Ted doin' "Journey To The Center of the Mind," (love that song! Was just listening to the Ramones' cover of it on their ACID EATERS CD the other day!) but for some reason the clip freezes at about the one minute mark every time I try to play it. Is it just me, or does Google Video just suck? | |

| I own approximately 0 Ted Nugent albums. Haha. Should I? I've heard a lot, and I like him as a person—yeah, he's crass and crude (which is sort of the same thing, huh?), but he's honest, and I like that—but I've never owned any album by him. |

Cool. Now, if I acquired all of them, which ones would you have avoided? |
