| After VH1 relaunched Behind the Music in 2009 with specials on Lil Wayne and 50 Cent, the long-running documentary series will head to VH1 Classic in 2010 with eight new half-hour specials dedicated to some of the biggest artists in rock history. Behind the Music Remastered will feature episodes on John Lennon, Metallica, Genesis, Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Judas Priest. While all of these artists have previously been featured on BTM, the Remastered series will pick up where those episodes left off with new interviews and footage from the past decade. Behind the Music Remastered will premiere on VH1 Classic on Saturday, February 6th. | |

A half-hour (minus commercials) doesn't seem long enough to do the stories justice, but I'll watch 'em regardless. I've always enjoyed that program, even if it did become a little bit formulaic towards the end. Person or band rises to fame>lives it up>hits rock bottom or suffers some tradegy>cleans up or finds redemption>vows to return to greatness. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

A half-hour (minus commercials) doesn't seem long enough to do the stories justice That's why they're only covering bands/artists that have been previously profiled on B.T.M. -- most of those shows were made quite a few years ago and in many cases, lots has happened since then. These shows are meant to "update" those stories. Neat idea. After all, Ripper Owens was still Judas Priest's vocalist when their episode was made, and all the drama surrounding Anthrax's vocal position since their episode could probably be enough for a two-hour movie. It would be nice if they started re-running the rest of the "old" B.T.M. episodes on a semi-regular basis again, even if they're not exactly up to date anymore. That was one of my fave shows back in the day. Even if they weren't covering an artist I was particularly fond of, they were always interesting viewing. (Who knew that Leif Garrett could be "interesting viewing?") Besides, they seem to be airing the recent "BTM" about Bret Michaels every couple of hours lately and I'm getting tired of seeing it every time I tune in VH1 Clasisic. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| That is pretty cool. Essentially, it makes them 1 1/2 hour episodes (minus the commercials) if they are the original and the 30 minute relaunch back to back, which I am sure they will. | |

| I used to love this show, but like MG stated they all became so cliche. Still cool stories and I enjoyed even if all rock bands share similar histories. | |

| I loved those Behind The Music and Legends series back in the late 90's and early 2000's. I have zero interest in the ones that have come out in the last few years, with the possible exception of Ratt which came out about 3 years ago. I will watch for these new ones in the future and will enjoy them very much.

From what I get from this is that the most recent BTMs made are of rap artists, but the show will be moving to VH1 CLASSIC in February and will feature new episodes and updated episodes of rock 'n roll artists.

I hope more metal artists are featured and I hope VH1 Classic starts broadcasting in HD soon

| I miss VH1's Legends documentary series...they did them on U2, Queen, Black Sabbath & David Bowie, I believe...I only got to see them once each...those were better than the BTM's, IMO... |

| I was addicted to Behind the Music. I wish they'd play them on the regular VH1, though, and just leave VH1 Classics and all video channel. I absolutely HATE all the crap they play on VH1 now. It used to be one of my favorite channels when they actually covered music (I know... that has not happened in a long time). I won't even go into MTV. | |

Yeah, I wonder why they never covered that. They didn't fit the format. While I could be mistaken, noone in the band had crippling drug or alcohol additions, did they? Maybe Paul Di'Anno, but he's a former member, old news. And they, as a band never hit "rock bottom". Sure, they might have had a low point during the Blaze years, but even then, they could fill a decent sized areana in Europe on their reputation. And when former drummer Clive Burr was stricken with MS, his old band mates held charity events for him. The band seems like a bunch of pretty well-behaved British gentlemen (by typical rock-star standards anyway). While I like the band and would certainly watch an episode dedicated to them, I don't think there is enough dirt or skeletons in their collective closets to interest the producers. They need sky-highs and down-lows for those shows. Or then again, maybe Steve Harris just said "bollocks" to them when VH-1 called. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Or then again, maybe Steve Harris just said "bollocks" to them when VH-1 called. They could mention the plight of Dennis Stratton and what Blaze has been up to since he left Maiden.

| What happened to Dennis Stratton? As for Blaze, he'd be pretty much a footnote in the history of Maiden. Yea, it's tragic that he lost his wife and he seems to have a somewhat decent solo career, but for an hour program, I can't seeing spending too much time on Blaze, especially after he left Maiden. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
