Question about reissues

If an album was released at a time when CD's where still in the future, and this album was later released on CD, do you consider that CD vesion a reissue?

Yes. That's exactly what a reissue is.

i would call it a re-issue since it was released for sale, regardless of format.

By your description Kmorg, I wouldn't considder it a re-issue unless something was changed from the original format. If tracks were added or re-ordered or the music was re-mastered or re-mixed from the original tape or vinly release, or even the artwork was altered in some way, then I'd call it a re-issue.

But if it's just a straight-up release of the original in a different format, I don't think of it as a "re-issue".

I wouldn't consider it a reissue. Sure, it's technically been reissued, but not in the sense of "real" reissues (i.e. out of print and resurrected).
