I am not a fan of this band. I don't hate them, and I'll admit they write some good tunes for their style, but never have I been compelled to buy an album of theirs...until this past summer.
I was down in Cape Cod with my girly-girl, and they have the bad-ass radio station that plays a ton of 80s rock, like mainstream to obscure stuff. It ruled. Anyway, I heard this one song a few times and frickin' loved it! I thought it was an old 80s band doing their stuff in a more modern flare. Turns out it was Nickleback. Haha.
That song. And I don't care, that is a kick-ass hard rock tune! I never bought the album, or even downloaded the single, but I'm still tempted. That song rules.

I admire your open-mindedness Eye, but that's horrible. Sounds like the rock version of the boot scootin' boogie.

.....ya know what, I have to agree, this song/riff is pretty catchy. It's hard for me to admit this, as I quickly turn the station whenever a Nickleback song comes on these days.

I still like it, as much as it hurts to say.

Although my disdain for Nickelback has lessened over the years, I still can't figure out what people hear in the lyrics.
But as they (who are "they" anyway) say:

The main riff has a Sabbath type feel. But the song sucks.

I actually sort of like Nickelback for whatever reason. They have some catchy tunes.

I still hate this band. The only song I like by them is "Never Again"; the one about spousal abuse.
Beyond that, this band is corporate white noise rock to my ears.

I like Nickelback. But I have to be in the right mood for them. I actually have one of their albums.
Once every 6 months or so - I give it a whirl.
They're not a top favorite, but they are decent hard alternative.

I'm sorry. I respect everyone's tastes, but personally I think that Nickelback is a cancer in today's music scene. They are absolutely horrible... talentless hacks. What is worse is that they have actually started a legion of sound-alike bands that have picked up the same crappy, corporate sound. I'm serious... they are a cancer.
And, of course, cancer requires a cure. Thus, now I have to go listen to The Cure, to get the nasty Nickelback taste out of my system.

Don't make me defend these guys! Haha. At least these cats write their own songs, quality aside. They're selling out stadiums, pleasing MILLIONS of fans, and doing it in a way that is—unless one just wants to make negative assumptions—honest.
The cancer resides in the corporate side; the people that make millions off of Nickleback's music yet can't name a single song by the band. Or all those industry songwriters that stripped creativity from the hands of the artists. Or those so-called "artists" that allowed it. There's some cancer at work.
Wait...this is like deja vu here. I've defended them before on this forum, huh? Haha.

Nickelback are musicians let them be. They are doing very well and how many bands can say they are played on almost every radio station rock, pop, or country. Very few can say that. Stop blaming the band its the people....

Not their biggest fan in the world, personally I HATE so many of their releases but this one is semi-decent. Much better than that shitty Rockstar :/

I just wonder why and how the sound this band has started, why bands are so fascinated with it, and when it will end and stop being called rock music. Most of what this band has, and bands that sound like this, is just an indiscernable wall of big-chord-sound with vocals from the grave of the grunge era carrying the song with semi-melodic scale antics. Their lyrics make it even worse. Calling this one decent is really not much more than throwing slightly less s*** than usual on an already heaping s*** pile.

"Talentless hacks"? Yeah....no they're not. How are they cancerous, just because you don't like them? They write their own songs (which are damn catchy and you know it) and play their own instruments, don't they?

I'll go out on a limb and say you're not a fan. And if it isn't rock, what would you call it, because what I hear is rock. Certainly pop-rock mind you, but still rock.

Big-chord-sound, like I said, or rock-sound. Something like if cavemen were to witness a concert and then go back and try to explain it in charades to the rest of the tribe. Not very musical to me at all.

This band is why I hate Creed,
I blame Creed for igniting this whole "corporate, big chord, let's score a hit" sound.
For my money, Creed paved the way for bands like Nickleback. That's reason enough to hate Creed IMO.

But we have to beat you, take away your metal card, and paint you up like Boy George. It's nothing personal though.
