'Design Your Universe'. Not a great idea. I can see people creating, like, whole planets just made out of boobs.

Yeah but the dinks are confined to Canada apparently.

You really are missing out dude.
it's a lot better than "The Divine Conspiracy". I like it better than "Consign to Obliveon" too. Although it's tight with that last one.

I like their last 3 albums quite a bit, with the last two running neck and neck even. They are both quality releases. Neither was too immediate for me, but after repeated listens, hit the spot nicely. Simone just keeps getting better and better with her voice.

I quite like Epica and really love Simmone's voice (and other attributes ). Design Your Universe is by far the best they've done especially with the more extensive use of guitar solos (the one thing that was really missing especially when I saw them live-unfortunatly the lovely Simmone wasn't there but Amanda Summerville did a great job of filling in).

The new album is OK, but I just can't get into it as much as the previous albums, for whatever reason. 8/10

I guess we agree on this one.
Too much growling and too much prog song structure.
I do agree that Simone's vocals get better with each release; in fact, after Tarja she is my favorite female vocalist. I just don't like Epica as a vehicle to showcase her talent.

I love the growling, it's the proggy song structure I'm not crazy about with this band. Simone sounds as great as ever, but she wasn't meant to sing in a prog band, IMO. This album could have been a lot more than it was.

See, I love the growling and the proggy elements.
I guess that's why Epica is one of my favorite bands.
