I could care less me either. All this drama is boring... _________________

| Who really cares what Jeff Young thinks, its been 20 years since he's been in the band. Not to mention, the recording sessions for SFSGSW were so different and hectic from other albums, I can see why itd be different. | |

Jeff seems to be getting pretty angry. Personally, I'm pleased to finally see an ex-Megadeth member speak out against Mustaine because I feel he does treat his ex-members with very little respect. But at the same time, Jeff seems to be having a bit of a hissy fit.
Tell you what though, I would love to see that guitar duel. I'm not even a big Jeff Young fan but I'm pretty confident he'd be able to wipe the floor with Dave. _________________

| Dave gave him a break. They both made lifestyle choices that cost them each something in regards to the personal and professional relationship they had. As to "The Duel" ? How childish can you get ? Sheeeeeeesh ! In the end... Jeff can play. Dave can write... and play. I jam with alot of players who can play an instrument but can't write anything orginal. They know it and are not filled with bitterness or resent a former bandmate for succes that they didn't achieve. _________________ | |

| Oh don't get me wrong, a duel would be utterly childish. But it would do Mustaine some good to have his ego brought down a peg or two. . _________________ | |

Ex-MEGADETH Guitarist JEFF YOUNG Slams DAVE MUSTAINE Over GUITAR WORLD Comments - Dec. 18, 2009
Former MEGADETH guitarist Jeff Young has penned an open letter to the band's mainman Dave Mustaine, accusing him of, among other things, "dissing, exaggerating and just plain lying on some level about nearly every talented musician that has passed through his dysfunctional little ensemble."
"Until now, I chose to keep my mouth shut, even for the VH1 'Behind the Music' episode," Jeff writes on his official MySpace blog. "And boy, could I have eaten up some serious air time with the truth about what REALLY went on 'behind the music' in MEGADETH. But it's been well over twenty years and the guy just can't seem to stop himself.
"Here [Mustaine] goes again, bragging in the pages of Guitar World about how he allegedly sings the solo melodies to all his lead guitarists!!
"Seriously, folks? This guy should take his comedy act on the road, if you'll pardon the pun.
"I can't speak for the others but as exceptional as all the MEGADETH lead guys have been, I don't believe his preposterous yarn for a second.
"Regarding the 'So Far, So Good, So What?!'-era sessions: Mustaine was nowhere in the building during any of my rhythm or lead tracking sessions. And since I came into the process at the last minute, there were also NO band rehearsals whatsoever. So when, exactly, did he sing me those solos?
"Fact is, from what I heard of his unedited 'So Far, So Good, So What?!' lead tracks, the guy can barely play his own lead lines, let alone sing some of the stunning lines that Chris [Poland], Marty [Friedman] or Glen [Drover] played."
Jeff then addresses Dave directly, stating, "Let's be clear for the record: you were not in the studio with me during any of my tracking... not one song — not one second. You know it and I know it. You need to stop blatantly lying to your fans and in the media.
"Perhaps next time you look in the mirror with the ole' 'hello me, meet the real me' crap — you'll pause to consider why you feel the need to continually perpetuate ridiculous ox manur and belittle others in order to make yourself seem more significant or talented.
"You consider yourself a 'genius,' yet after all these years, you're still not smart enough to comprehend that when you diminish others, you dimish yourself most of all — even as you clearly telegraph your raging insecurity for anyone with an ounce of insight to see. You may also want to go back and re-read the lyrics you wrote in 'Liar'. Then consider the giant glass house you've built for yourself and put your silly little stones down, once and for all. At the very least for all the players that helped create all the success you now so arrogantly and selfishly enjoy."
Young concludes his missive by stating, "Oh, and while we're at it: you may want to stop telling the world that you invented the 'spider chord!' Classical guitarists commonly use that approach and it is considered part of the standard classical guitar technique, you fool."

I think it's good that someone has finally spoken up against Mustaine. Megadeth is one of my fav bands but sometimes Mustaine talks loads of shite about previous members and other bands and it's about time someone shouted back....
Can't wait from the impending smurf poo-storm! I can understand why Jeff Young is slamming Mustaine because he can't take it anymore of Mustaine's crap fair enough but in this case releastically who cares if Dave did or didn't sing the solo parts on that album. The fans don't really give a stuff. But I still think Dave Mustaine is cool even though he has a twisted opinion on politics like he thought the Iraq war had to happen and thinks george w bush did the right thing in handling foreign affairs and was bagging out the dixie chix for slamming bush. Also I saw an interview with him in a 1991 guitar world interview where he says queensryche are "fag yuppie metal". Total ignorance there but I still think he's better than Lars Ulrich in a big way

| I have NO problem with Jeff Young coming out about stuff that happened over 20 years ago. It seems that Dave tends to get a free pass these days as it pertains to getting thrown out of Metallica or how he still hates Kirk Hammett (which is approaching 30 years). I really like Dave quite a bit, but I feel he is maybe Metal's biggest hypocrite. As I've stated before on here, I think he is a tragic figure. Usually "We" reserve that for people who've passed away, but I think this tag aptly applies to him. The fact that he's had a revolving door of musicians in his band, and the negative press that came with about 90% of their departures says quite a bit. Hell, Dave admittedly made up a story regarding Jeff's firing from the band back in the day. Dave told metal magazines back in the day that he had to cut the guy loose because he was having an affair with Dave's girlfriend or wife at the time. It totally wasn't true.
I guess I've always wondered, at the end of the day, how many "True" friends does Dave Mustaine have in this world?

| Jeff Young can kiss my ass, if he has beef with Dave Mustaine, he should either man up and tell him in person or hire a lawyer if he feels he has been ripped off . This guys is a good ( at least was) guitartist but this guy has not done sh!t in 20 plus years!!!! I am sure Dave Mustaine is not easiest guy to work with but this is not exactly headlining making news!! | |

| Wait, wait, wait....
So we have a former guitarist of a thrash metal band making negative, somewhat emotional statements about a former band member/leader, when he hasn't even been in said band in over 20 years?
It all sounds vaguely familiar....if only I could place where that situation has happened before!
