| Not sure if metal would be the term for them but Life Of Agony-Soul Searching Sun was a crapfest. I'd also put Dio-Angry Machines up there (I will give it another chance but upon first listen I hated over half the album). Also: Metallica-St. Anger Pain Of Salvation-Be (my first and only PoS album) Queensrych-anything after Hear In The Now Frontier Theatre Of Tragedy-anything after Aegis Galactic Cowboys calling it quits | |

But some don't consider that to be metal (myself included).

You should get banned for that I love that album and the follow up "Vanity / Nemesis" of course the Old fans raged about it, but it has quality within it, if you wanted to choose a CF album I'd have chosen the last one. I'll agree with Ult over Lynch Mob's "Smoke this" but also I'd add Lynch / Pilson's "Wicked Underground" Digger - Stronger than Ever (that did suffer similar to Cold Lake) as Grave Digger wanted ti try and become more commerical. Annihilator - Metal (too many contributors, it's a feckin' joke) |

| Deliverance's "As Above/So Below". I'm a huge fan of early Deliverance and had heard that this album was a return to that early sound. This is one of the blandest and boring albums I've ever heard. | |

I look at black metal nowadays as a sound rather than image/ideology/sound when it originally came out, although I guess the hardcore believers will not agree. I don't mind bands that have the black metal sound because many of the lyrics and themes has progressed and changed much since its anti-God and anti-Christian beginnings. To each his own, I do en enjoy a really well executed BM band.

have you prayed that jesus eliminates this form of music, then hold your breath until he comes through? try it, i'm sure it will work. The crux of my post wasn't the hating God thing. I couldn't care less what their beliefs are to be honest, but how many more tinny, garbled, albums recorded in parents' basements must the world endure? There are a few really great black metal bands, but those bands seem to have evolved since 1994. I suspect the least talented musicians are the ones who embrace the primitive black metal sound as their means expression because it sounds great coming out of their single speaker cassette players, because we all know the Troo Kvlt way to go is cassettes. |

| - post-The Triumph of Steel Manowar - most black metal (not all, mind you) - Cold Lake (I can't see why anyone likes this pile of steaming horse manure...) - post-Operation Mindcrime Queensrÿche - Master's Hammer - Slagry (although it is brilliant in a rather retarded way) - post-Heavy Demons Death SS - most Mortification albums after Post Momentary Affliction
And the list goes on and on.

| I agree with the Lo-Fi Black Metal stuff to a point. There are SOME good bands though.
Anyways, to add to the list of bad metal moments a little more:
Dio - Magica KNAC shutting down on FM Radio The oversaturation of thrash bands by trendhopping kids. Metal Maniacs going out of print Nu-Metal

I agree. I hate 99.999% of the crappy kvlt stuff. I do however really enjoy some of the black metal bands of the more 'melodic' or 'symphonic' variety. Then again, they have talent, hooks and a professional musical career. Ancient, Cradle of Filth and Absu are all bands that I consider faves from this genre. I don't necessarily agree with or even like their lyrics, but I can get beyond that.
