This would help explain things a little clearer. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

Well Mr. Boden, when your father works in a coal mine 16 hours a day and your Mom slings slop at the truck stop for 12, you tend not to have the available funds to buy proper eyewear for your 8 children.
Got any other cute comments about me? ya forgot to mention that your mom and dad are brother and sister.... "Uncle Daddy" was a common phrase in that household _________________

I'm not talking about you, because you've been successful. But MOST people won't have the success they always strive for if they refuse certain societal norms. I'm not at all saying that one has to necessarily cut his hair, but if that's what it takes, it would be foolhardy to refuse if that's all it takes to attain one's goals, unless that person is perfectly happy sitting at home eating nothing but cheese balls, Ramen noodles and macaroni & cheese. Those like yourself who actually HAVE had success on their terms, that is a good thing, but as I said, many who rage against so-called conformity will be living with their parents well into adulthood, and that's what I have a problem with. That is all.

| I hear ya SGF [cheese-balls....mmmmmm]
But at the same time, if everyone conformed, this would be one drab planet. I just have to play devils advocate and interject the other side of the coin, when I hear or read things like that. |

| I am not raging against conformity or the machine or anything else. I work for a huge company and I still have long hair, so I think it is more important how you present yourself than your appearance. | |

Yeah, making sure you are content is my highest priority. i was content long before we crossed paths. in all seriousness...i have the highest respect for guys who have sacrificed a piece of themselves for the ones they love. it's painful, demeaning, & sad. yet they do it to because it's needs done. my father was a prime example. so while i think what you are getting at is a nice thought, it's not always an option for a responsible adult. you & i were just fortunate that we were still able to be successful in that regard. _________________

I appreciate what you are saying. At the same time, we worked our balls off to get a piece. I just didn't want our younger members to think there are no options or that is "the end of story". I have shot my mouth off enough. I'm done now. |

In the mean time, here are some shots older then my car.... The last picture taken when I had long hair: The first one taken after I cut it: Me and the CD collection when I had maybe half the collection I own now: Me and my grandfather: _________________
