I was hearing about this female fronted band and hearing comparisons to Lita Ford, Joan Jett and Nancy Wilson so I checked out some samples. Ugh. Reminds me more of Taylor Swift. (My wife listens to country radio, that's how I know.)
I picked this cd up and its amazing. This is more modern yes but its kick ass rock music with some awesome riffs and great songwriting. This woman is one of the best female vocalists in rock.

Well, I listened to that song you put up, and....it's not bad. No way in hell can she touch Ann Wilson, but she can surely sing decent enough. I dunno, I guess the whole thing just sounded really generic. If I didn't see the tag, I would swear I was listening to Evanescence or something.

Lzzy can sing and has a real rock raspy voice, I dont get that from Amy Lee at all. Its def made for radio and thats not always a bad thing as you are supposed to write good songs. I just find them different from all the other female fronted modern rock bands.
It's modern hard rock, and it's good for what it is -- half of it is generic, half of it is really catchy. Lzzy Hale has an amazing voice. Just check out "I Get Off" and "It's Not You".
Lizzy Hale has a kick ass voice!! Saw her live and she ripped it up!
My wife was asking me the other day if I knew of any other Modern Rock bands like this with female singers...she likes Halestorm, Sick Puppies & Skillet (Sick Puppies & Skillet have girls who sing with the guys, I think). She was like "how come there's no new (band like) Heart or something?"
She's not into the symphonic thing at all, so bands like After Forever and Nightwish are lost on her. She liked Theatre Of Tragedy back in the day, but doesn't want a ton of bands like that. She liked Lacuna Coil pretty well, but it's not what she's after. She hates Evanesence.
I tried to find some other Modern Rock bands with girl ROCK singers and came up empty handed...any ideas? She likes new bands like:
Halestorm Sick Puppies Skillet Alter Bridge Shinedown
