Today on July 3, 1971 Jim Morrison sunk into the big sleep at the age of 27 from an apparent heart attack. Thankfully the music he left behind is eternal. R.I.P.

Damn, hard to believe how close we are to the 40th anniversary. I'll spin some Doors this morning in tribute.

R.I.P. Jim Morrison. Didn't realize it was the anniversary of his death today. Maybe I'll dust off my DVD of the Doors movie tonite.

As for the band... I dig'em but I'm a casual fan at best; my wife and I have three Doors CDs between us (a Greatest Hits, the debut album, and the movie soundtrack)... have never quite gotten round to digging deeper into their catalog than that, though it's on the list of things to do one of these days.

When I was in college I went to see a New Jersey based Doors tribute band called "The Soft Parade" a few times, they were quite excellent... the singer was a dead ringer for Jim Morrison, both vocally and visually. It was actually kinda scary to see that guy take the stage, people were like "Holy sh*t, it's really HIM!"

Freddy, get L.A. Woman...you won't regret it. That's my favorite Doors album next to the debut, every song is a classic.

Ive been on a big Doors kick for a month or so now, I admit its a band i dont know too much about but im really really gettin into them got alot of fav songs, Im currently reading "No One Here Gets Out Alive" and its a really good read

We were to have a big show w/a Beatles tribute opening for us on July 3rd, I quit the band two days before the show, more than a few people not all together pleased.

Definitly one of my fav bands now

I've been listening to "Riders on The Storm" and "The End" constantly for the past few days.

I'll say it again that "Ships With Sails" is my fave Doors song. Imagine if Jim had sung it!
