In regards to brand new 9 song GNR Chinese Democracy leaks

Dunno if anyone will care or if it has been mentioned...but contrary to various postings online that reference this newly leaked material, these 9 tracks everyone's goin' so nutso about are most definitely NOT mastered. That however has since been taken care of by yours truly. Of course the source material is nowhere near what I'd use for a normal mastering job, but the nasty, budget quality mp3 sound is a lot more tolerable now, all the songs are the same volume (and to modern volume specs) and the huge silences between tracks has been removed, thus creating a much better song to song flow.

Antiquiet original mp3 files...Converted to WAV...Mastered...Converted to 320 kbps high quality joint stereo mp3.

I included a 500 x 500 pixel jpeg cover (bicycle cover) for iPod use.

Total file size: 105 MB

...and anyone who thinks that these mastered from far below cd source versions of songs from the hopefully someday to be released Axl & Co record will actually keep anyone who gives a crap from actually buying it if it ever does get released is a bloomin' idiot.

Regarding the actual music at hand...I gotta say that Axl has somehow managed to make material that sounds like several things all once:

1. The natural followup to Use Your Illusion I & II
2. An Axl Rose solo album
3. Guns N' Roses
4. Not Guns N' Roses

I dunno how he did that, but he did...and the songwriting is truly stellar...gotta give it up to him, because it's an undeniable fact. And the more you listen to the songs the more you realize just how stellar the writing truly is.

Anyway...Enjoy these newly mastered versions.

2008. It was originally due in 2000 and it's still not out.

I'm reuploading the entire file now...due to a glitch in the original source file for the song called "Better." I repaired the glitch (a skip early in the song) and am reuploading...attempting to download the file right now will cause an error, so don't do it!

From them, I think so.

To me, UYI1&2 was mostly underwhelming.

Oh man Im 3 songs into this and im already going to puke This blows cause I was really wanting to hear this. I didnt expect it to sound like appitite or even use your illusions but I sure as hell didnt expect it to sound like this. im hoping maybe there might be atleast one song thats somewhat decent.

I think the songs are good for what they are.

Well I made it through 3 more songs. Chinese Democracy, Better and The Blues. Now these are a little more acceptable. 3 more to go....

listened to them all and the 3 middle songs were the better ones. What a shame....

thanks cliffy. although, from the reaction phoenix gave, I might not be thankful after i listen to them.

Thanks for the cleaned up versions of these. I've been familiar with most of these for some time, but I've never heard, or heard of, "Message For You" (pretty cool) and "If The War" (the worst GNR song ever?).

Regardless, whenever the album is finally released, I'll be buying it.

I can think of better things to spen $13 million on - like me

I've never been a Guns & Roses fan, but I was not impressed - intitial thoughts are that these songs are no where near the writing quality of their debut and use your illusion 1 & 2 - as I said, I not a GNR fan, but the songs on theire first albums are better

Finally listened to them. They are ok. Nothing special. You did a good job mastering them though.

i might actually wait till it comes out. metal hammer reckons this is the album but who knows

Thanks for the new leak, I'll check this out. I heard a leak of most the album ages back when there was that sort of Chi-Dem leaking extravaganza, and quite liked most of what I heard.
