For me - I have no love for power metal. The exceptions that I still crank all the time are Conception and Veni Domine.
Also, from the Modern Rock category - I really like Hinder.
Throw in Public Enemy in the rap/hip hop genre, and that is all I can think of right now.

I don't know if there is a genre for this, but I don't like screaming vocals; yet I really like Kreator.
I also like N.W.A./Eazy-E, although I'm not a fan of rap in general.

I like early Allman Brothers (with Duane) and I do not like southern rock.
I like Patsy Cline and Roger Miller and I hate country music.

I'm not into Country but have always liked Alabama. Power Metal is so Oversaturated but Theocracy is Great!

Ice Cube for rap though not a fan of the genre

I have a weakness for country music sung by attractive women (i.e. Sara Evans, Miranda Lambert, etc...I know, I'm an extremely shallow human being. )
Never been much of a rap guy but I dig some ol'skool Public Enemy, Ice-T, etc.

New Wave, but I dig Gary Numan and early The Cars.
Electronic music, but I like some Mike Oldfield and Kraftwerk.

I don't know exactly how you'd classify them - maybe new age/electronica - but for some reason I've always dug Enigma. I don't have anything else in the Toho Vault that sounds anything like them.

I've always had an affinity for Shadows Fall although I don't care much for the Gothenburg/melo-death genre.

I think I have some love spread out for every genre available except for rap, but even there I have some (awkward) respect for Tupac and NWA.

John Denver and Hootie and the Blowfish are good artists that actually have more in common than people would normally assume. They both have an obvious influence from southern music (folk/country in particular) and were a light alternative to the angst ridden music of their time. To Hootie it was grunge, but to Denver it was hard rock. Both were largely successful despite their critics' objections to them as overly escapist.
