According to Muslim tenets, the body is supposed to be buried within 24 hours after death. You can imagine the logistical nightmare of going through bureaucratic red tape in that allotted amount of time.

Actually, I just saw a so-called "expert" say that was the real reason the dumped his butt into the sea. They didn't want a burial site to become a new "pilgrimage site".

I gotta admit I find something satisfying in knowing that he's now being torn apart by various sea-dwelling creatures. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

If all of a sudden a bunch of great white sharks wash up dead on some shore, we'll know why.

They should have taken his body to Memphis and buried it under a BBQ pit full of pork ribs, after wrapping him in bacon. I don't understand why we have to be respectful of Muslim burial customs, bin Laden didn't care how the 911 victims were buried or even if there was anything left of them to bury.

I like Freddy's idea about stuffing him and selling tickets. We could have made a serious dent in the federal deficit with that....

I like Freddy's idea about stuffing him and selling tickets. We could have made a serious dent in the federal deficit with that....

At this point, I'm willing to try just about anything to get that deficit going down!

Supposedly on March 13th the military suggested to the President that the compound be bombed. He denied this request, because he probably knew that without a body/photographs of the corpse/DNA results that you would have skeptics lining up around the White House. Even though I've been less than excited about his performance in his 2+ years, I'm happy with the course of action that he took with this raid on the compound. If it's true that Seal Team 6 suffered no loss of life, then how can one complain about the outcome.

That's what I meant about Obama giving the green light to a risky strategy. Sure, we could have easily bombed the place but as you say, that would have given fodder to conspiracy theorists. He took a risk and risked American lives by trying a more "surgical" approach which I think would have been the proper decision even if the outcome hadn't been as ideal as it was.

So I have to give the man credit; in this instance, he had more stones that I thought he was capable of.

Leo there's this scholar that says the 72 virgins should have been written as 72 grapes instead since initially the Arabic alphabet didn't have the vowel pointers and was only consonantal for many years, and when they were developed the indicators, the wrong vowel marks were put in and the initial word grapes turned to virgins. Ha! So they've been killing themselves for grapes all these years expecting to be met by beautiful virgins
