Anneke Quits The Gathering!

Crazy. I am a HUGE fan of The Gathering. I wonder what the future holds? A male and female vocalist on the next album? I wonder if they'll bring back the death metal vocals?

i love The Gathering & everything they've released. including their non-metal stuff. Anneke was THE voice. this just shocks the hell out of me!

the male/female vox thing makes me think they may want to go the Lacuna Coil route. not that i don't like LC, i just think The Gathering are beyond that. i hope it's not the case.

I know. Her voice is very unique for a female vocalist. Octavia Sperati is the only to ever really remind me of The Gathering. Still, Anneke's voice was only part of their greatness, so if they're carrying on, and she's got a new band, all is well. Unless it all sucks. Haha.

Have you heard Octavia Sperati? They're a lot like Nighttime Birds-era The Gathering.

Good!!!! The only album I liked by them was "Always" and that was with a far better vocalist for them named Bart. Too bad he only lasted one album. When Anneke came on board in the 3rd album "Mandylion", it was all fast downhill for them in my opinion. Now I just hope they quit!

thanks for the offer Eyesore, i just downloaded the Grace Submerged album by Octavia Sperati & am jamming to it now. it's fantastic! i am ordering that & Winter Enclosure on Amazon right now! if you know of any other bands of this style with fantastic female singers, don't be shy.
