| Tool never ever grabbed me in. A lot has to do with the songwriting. There are no hooks, the drumming is so off time and beat that the music has no groove. I also agree with an above post Tool has re released the same album just under different album titles.

| I find them to be utterly boring. There is nothing in the music that gives it "life" to me. For me personally, it's like the band tries so hard to be cerebral, original, ethereal, etc that they lose all sense of hook and coherency. I'm also with everyone else; Maynard's vocals are terrible if you ask me. _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

That's really the only thing I liked about Tool, thought the rhythm section was amazing. |

Daney Carey is an amazing drummer he just cant keep a beat. I want to bob my head to the music not hear some guy just wail away on his drumset.

| To you people who hate Tool... Listen to the Aenima album then get back to me. I really can't stand anything else by this band but that album is brilliant IMO. Check out the title track especially. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Ive heard that album many times because some of my friends love Tool, really only 1 good song on that disc and that is Forty Six & 2. The others are like the first song on the disc "stink"fist

- I tried getting into these guys, based on a recommendation of an ex-coworker who was a major fan-boy. He burned me a cdr of a few songs and I even saw them live, but nothing really stuck. What I heard was ok enough, but nothing that I felt compelled to run out & purchase.
Some 4 years later and I finally purchased my first (and probably only) Tool album. I picked up Aenima for $2 at the local Goodwill. It's an interesting listen, but I'm not sure how often I would listen to this. Gotta be in the right mindset for this kind of music I think. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
