Aren't these essentially Midi files that have been around since the mid 90's? I remember listening to some of this stuff way back in 1996 when I got my first computer.

These have been around for a while. I remember at least 5 years ago visiting personal websites and they couldn't support anything except these Midi files.

I think Holy Wars has the most "arcade toon game" sound to it, especially in the beginning.

The intro of Enter Sandman reminds me of Castlevania.

right, I thought the same thing. But I think those clips were played on keyboard instead of all of these different sounds.

Yeah, these aren't midi files. Midi files sound more like a real keyboard than this. 8-bit sound processing has that extra... synth spikeyness to it.

He! He! He! That's cool. I love the old NES games and think despite the lack of good graphics they're much better than games these days.
