I love DIO, and hope others do too. What's your favorite album?

Yay! Somebody answered my topic! Now I'll say my fave, and everyone will be happy! Angry Machines. Great album, highly under-appreciated.

Angry Machines is my least favorite Dio album, over the years I have grown to like it, and after reading Martin Popoff's Dio book it gave me a greater appreciation for the album.

Popoff has a book solely for Dio?
My Dio answer is Rainbow-Rising (I know it's not a Dio solo album).

Yes it is called Dio: Light Beyond the Black and can only be ordered from his website.

Thanks, manny. Any other books exclusive to one artist/band?

Please consider:
As akeldama wrote, Rainbow is also a Dio band, but don't just stick to his solo career, expand to his others. 'Dio' means Ronnie James Dio.
Aside from the above:
I've read Popoff's book on Dio. It's good. Well written and an eye opener to those unaccustomed to Dio.

I think Holy Diver in his solo career, as frontman of other bands Black Sabbath - Dehumanizer is awesome

Holy Diver! However, I love the man's entire catalog.

Last In Line or Holy Diver, though I like some of his newer stuff as well...I think Master Of The Moon is underrated. Magica is decent. I can't stand Angry Machines, however.

I love every Dio album. Even the stuff from before anyone heard of him (like Ronnie and the Redcaps, which belongs in the other section for nonmetal). But, as it seems every one agrees, Holy Diver is probably his best work. I personally like the sound of Angry Machines, however if I had any Dio album, I'd be happy. That kind of sums up a lot of thoughts into one.

I love Magica. Saw that tour. Dio had announced prior to the tour that he would be playing the album in it's entirety. As such, I familiarized myself with the album before the show and found myself enjoying it quite a bit, and still do.
I've seen Dio live several times over the years, both as a solo artist and with Sabbath. He's never disappointed me.

Am I the only one whose fave is DREAM EVIL? Don't get me wrong, the HOLY DIVER and LAST IN LINE discs (to name just a few) rule as well but I'm a little burnt out on those two. Nowadays when I'm in a Dio mood I reach for DREAM EVIL more often than anything else.

'Dream Evil' is an excellent album and very underrated IMO, great classy songs and Goldy is an underrated guitartist.

I'm with ya Freddy. Either Dream Evil or Sacred Heart is my favorite. Depends on the day. But I like all of his stuff.
"Sacred Heart" is the best of his "epic" songs, if you ask me. I LOVE that one.
