Dream Evil would rank up at No. 2 or 3 for me. It's easily up there with Holy Diver and Last in Line IMO. Highly underrated. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I agree that Dream Evil is underrated, the cover is kinda corny though. | |

All of Dio's covers are kinda corny when you get right down to it. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Dehumanizer is the best he ever did but as a solo i'd have to go Holy Diver. |

| Probably just because I like the album so much do I think that. |

| I'd go for Holy Diver as well. Killing the Dragon and The Last In Line come in a close 2nd. | |

| Holy Diver is my favourite, too.
Last in Line and Dream Evil are tied for second.
Let me think...
4. Killing the Dragon 5. Sacred Heart 6. Magica 7. Lock up the Wolves 8. Master of the Moon 9. Strange Highways 10. Angry Machines
Something like that. | |

| I've got much love for two DIO docs. from this decade. Killing The Dragon and Majica are sweet. Master of the Moon ain't too shabby neither. That one's pretty much on the same level as Lock Up The Wolves, an album I just heard after many years of early DIO abstinence. |

I agree with the Dehumanizer comment and I'll add Rainbow-Rising.

| I think Heaven and Hell is the best he ever did. Then Holy Diver. Then the Rainbow albums + Dream Evil and Last in Line. Mob Rules is among the best, too. | |

| I have an important announcement to make... I no own every Dio album in existence! From The Last in Line (which, apparently was the first in line for platinum ) to the mostly unknown Dio EP (my most recent addition). Anyway, I still love every album almost equally, but upon further listening, I realized it's harder to choose a favorite album then song, so... look at my new topic for favorite (Dio) song. I hope all of you on here now migrate over there. Keep on rockin'. | |

Lock Up the Wolves is very unusual choice, TZ, but I also like doomy almost goth feel to some of the songs.

| I'm only lacking Angry Machines so here is my list: Holy Diver Last In LIne Sacred Heart Magica Lock Up The Wolves Dream Evil Stage Highways Master Of The Moon Killing The Dragon The margins between the enjoyment of the albums (excluding the last two) are small. The last few dio albums were lackluster for me. | |

WOW!!! Most people I know hate this record even though I've always really liked it. Not my favorite that would be Holy Diver but this album ranks high for me in the Dio catalog.

| The only one of his solo albums I have is Holy Diver. If were talking about anything with Dio on it, I'd say Black Sabbath's "Mob Rules" takes the cake. | |

| I'm listening to Strange Highways right now and it's much better than I had remembered (I had this on cassette and never upgraded it). It basically sounds like a follow-up album to Dehumanizer...lots of Sabbath-style riffs on this album...plus Vinny Appice brings his signature plod to the proceedings.
The title track and Give Her The Gun are prime examples of Dio-led Doom. |
