Actually it was an unknown (at the time) named Jeff Loomis.

Onetime Queensryche guitarist Mike Stone played on what album by a former KISS member?

I don't know about Les Paul, but I know that twenty years ago today, Sergeant Pepper taught the band to play.

Is this a trick question? I woulda guessed he was self-taught.

I know I've read this somewhere, but now I can't remember. I think it was the very same guitar-player he replaced in the band.

I know that during The Battle Rages On tour Ritchie Blackmore quit in the middle of it and then Joe Satriani finished out the tour and Morse became a full-time member after that.

Then it was probably Ritchie himself that recommended Steve.

Joe Satriani did recommend Morse to the band. DP asked Satriani to join full-time but he was too busy with other projects, so he gave them Steve's number and told them that Morse would be a better fit anyway.

Since he's been the guitarist for almost 15 years now (over twice the length of Blackmore)...I think they made the right choice.
