| Obviously, I'm a fan of "Runnin' With the Devil" and "Hot for Teacher," but I think the album version of "Time Your Mother Down" has one of the coolest guitar intros in heavy metal.
However, the most epic intro, in my opinion, is the intro to "Watcher of the Skies" by Genesis. Tony Banks's mellotron opening is probably one of the greatest instrumental parts in prog rock. Definitely epic.
What's your favorite song intro?

| One probably only rattpoison has heard. The intro to "The Dogs Are Talkin'" by The Angels. "There comes a time in a young girl's life...when she first meets a man. There comes a time in a young girl's life...when she becomes...a woman." *cue guitar slide...* _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Not an epic opening but simple and effective: AC/DC's 'Highway to Hell' | |

There are several AC/DC songs with instantly recognizable intros. How about the bell intro for Hells Bells? Another one is the intro to Ozzy's "Crazy Train". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Toho you are correct AC/DC have at least a dozen songs that open with an instantly recognizable intros like 'Thunderstruck' for example. Another intro I love Mc5's spoken intro to 'Kick Out the Jams' | |

I love that song it is def my fav Rush song. I never really sat down and tried to play it, Playing Alex's leads are hard for me as he really isnt the smoothest lead guitar player he is very choppy. Love him though, his rhythms are so sweet.

Ripoff of Too Many Puppies. The first 20 seconds are similar but thats it, both great songs IMO. Another song that has one of the most beautiful intros is Biohazard - Love Denied
