| Everyone seems to pay attention only to the Ozzy and Dio eras of Sabbath, even though Sabbath recorded more albums with Tony Martin than with Dio and sold twice as many copies of the Dio era albums than all Martin era albums combined. Anyways, which is your favorite Tony Martin era Black Sabbath album? | |

| I only have Headless Cross, so I'll go with that. | |

| I am with Cross Purposes. But Tyr is an equally awesome album and Forbidden and Headless Cross are not bad either. | |

| I voted for 'The Eternal Idol' one of best Black Sabbath albums of any era. | |

| The Eternal Idol by a fairly wide margin, the songwriting is really top notch on that album.
I would rank the albums this way:
1. The Eternal Idol 2. Cross Purposes 3. TYR 4. Headless Cross (this album tries a little too hard to be "metal") 5. Forbidden |

| Born Again still slays it all. But, out of the Tony Martin albums, Headless Cross has always been my favorite. Followed closely by The Eternal Idol | |

| I like most of the Martin-era Sabbath a good bit. Forbidden is easily the worst and Tyr is my favorite. But Eternal Idol and Headless Cross are neck and neck with Tyr. | |

Listening to it now...what a great album! They should have released Born To Lose as the single for this, one of the catchiest tunes Sabbath ever wrote. |

| All are good except Forbidden. I chose Headless Cross for it's dark sound but Cross Purposes or Eternal Idol are right up there too. | |

| I went with Cross Purposes. Eternal Idol would be a real close second. Forbidden would be my least favorite. | |

| Forbidden actually has 2 tracks that I REALLY like.
"Can't Get Close Enough" - This is a cool track, the intro/outro has a very different vibe than the usual Iommi composition and the middle section ROCKS.
"Kiss Of Death" - This song is killer and stacks up with anything else this lineup did.
There are a few other songs that have their moments, but overall the album sounds rushed, unfocused and has a "let's get this over with" vibe to it. |
