| In 2009, I will personally see to it that we have more Purple threads than Iced Earth.
Which from the list is your favorite Deep Purple direct offshoot band?
Mine is Whitesnake. Forget about late 80's WS (although that band is awesome too) and listen to everything before that. Whitesnake was one helluva a consistently good rock band from Great Britain.

| Captain Beyond! Sounds like a heavier Iron Butterfly. | |

| I have to go with popular opinion and go with Rainbow simply because Ritchie Blackmore is my favorite guitartist, and also the caliber of musicians in Rainbow where amazing, you had of course Dio, Graham Bonnet, Joe Lynn Turner, and even Doogie White which are all excellent vocalist, the great Cozy Powell on drums, Keyboardist Tony Carey and many other musicians did time in Rainbow. But I have liked almost every band that spun off from Deep Purple, the band Gillan was an excellent band, Tommy Bolin's very short solo career was brillant. Early Whitesnake when it was more bluesier animal was great also, and Glenn Hughes still releases steller solo albums, a metal Stevie Wonder if you will. | |

| I like them all, from Nick Simper's Warhorse to Doogie White's Cornerstone. But really, Dio era Rainbow, by far. | |

| Had to go with Rainbow...but it was a real close call with Gillan's solo work.
I have never liked Coverdale (I actually wish Glenn Hughes had been the full-time vocalist after Gillan left). |

I always talk to people about Whitsnake and they're like "Oh you like that 'Here I Go Again' song?", I reply "No none of that crap, their early stuff is where it's at. A lot of blues influence" No one ever talks about the early stuff. | |

| Whitesnake over Rainbow (not by much), especially since the band pretty much proved everyone wrong with such a great album last year. I never saw that one coming. | |
