Alex Haha. Yup. Figured I'd pick up the releases I haven't gotten yet. Can't believe it took me so long to get the Pathosray album. Snagged the Twilight Ophera from Amazon. They're one of the few black metal bands I dig.
Speaking of Laser's Edge. Have you scored the novAct disc yet? I think it's $4. That's my favorite album Ken has ever released. Such a different sound those guys had. The singer rules! Very unique. Kind of sounds like the dude from Fine Young Cannibals. I know, sounds odd, but they rule! I will have to check them out. How do you like the Persona non grata? I am on the fence. It sounds good but it doesnt quite click the whole way with me yet. I just placed an order not 2 days ago to plug some gaps in my threshold, wyzards, mister kite collections and to get the unitopia you referred me to get... Alex _________________

| I bought that Sister Sin and was seriously disappointed. Something is just missing in this band for me. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

- Heh. You bought XXL? One of my favorite bands growing up. In fact, Sax got that CD from me. Curious to know what you think
To be honest it wasn't what I expected. However once I got going on it I started to get into it. Love the aggression. Thus far I'm actually really liking the second half of the album. "Who's Got The Problem" is a killer tune. Definately a keeper. And Sax practically gave it away. Did they ever do anything else? From Wherehouse.com Anacrusis - Whispers And Screams Jetboy - Lost And Found Lillian Axe - Pychoschizophrenia English Dogs - All The Worlds A Rage Alex, did you get your Stones cds okay? After I recommended wherehouse - they sent my order missing a cd and their reply seemed to indicate they're not going to be quick to credit me or send the missing cd. Figures.

| Wherehouse.com is great. That last sale (20% off plus free shipping) probably moved alot of units. My shipment this week from them came a little slow. |

| Wherehouse.com just credited me for the CD. Now if I could only get the amazon seller I'm having a problem with to do the same. | |

I never heard of that place before, but it seemed pretty cool. I didn't have alot of time to spend there looking around. Unfortunatley, most of the stuff I searched for was out of stock. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Alex You know, I didn't think I was going to dig the Persona Non Grata at first. It's a little different, almost awkward. That's exactly the way I felt about Wastefall when I first heard them. It's like a weird progressive version of prog-metal. Haha. They just construct things differently. But after a few spins I really start to groove to it. The guitar tone is a bit weak, a little hollow, I guess, but that's my biggest complaint. Did you have Threshold's Subsurface? I just traded that one away. Anyway, novAct is killer. Listen to this song: http://www.last.fm/music/novAct/_/Sharply+Condemned (In the player, top right.) |

The CD has that black dude with the weird voice that sort of irks me. It's like they tried to incorporate that 90s rapcore stuff. "Who's Got The Problem" dates back to the Dear Life days, and it once had a killer solo. Not on the CD, though. Too bad. I need to buy a USB cassette deck to rip all the killer demo tapes I have. I'll record a track tonight with my MP3 player and upload it. Quality isn't that bad that way, actually. |

That's funny you mention that. I did notice that their website design and search function was very similiar and the whole place reminded me of SecondSpin. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Here's that Dear Life (XXL) demo: DEAR LIFE - WHO'S GOT THE PROBLEM? (1993 Demo) Sounds like crap, though. Guess my MP3 player isn't as cool as I thought. Haha. You can still hear how they were much closer to being a sort of thrash crossover band back then. Wish they'd left the lead work in on the CD. "Follow Me," on the CD, has shades of the old band. |

| Thanks for that eyesore. I wish they'd gone more in that direction but at the time it probably seemed like a good idea to include the other elements. It is an album that gets better with multiple listens. Really glad I picked it up.

You know that has Dizzy Reed pre Guns N' Roses......he and Todd Barrone were like the sleaze rock Martin Rev and Alan Vega! It's like Sigue Sigue Sputnik and Zodiac Mindwarp mangling Billy Idol songs with a drum machine and looped hack guitar riffs, way ahead of the curve........and in the gutter.
Funnily enough, on the first spin my thoughts were that it sounded like Billy Idol in places - really the only comparison that I could draw. I had read that The Wild was Dizzy's pre- GNR outfit; almost too bad that Axl snapped him up (although it obviously worked out well for Dizzy in the end).
