Anyone familiar with this band? Like 'em? Hate 'em? Albums they would recommend?

Would they be considered a "true" alternative rock band, or would they fall into the "jam" band category, like Phish? I got into them in the 90s. I like the way they use Middle Eastern type instruement, mixed with folk influences. The first album they did was on their own label. They did that to have complete artistic control I believe. If you can find it is very psychedelic from what I remember. The first major release "Edge Of Twilight", something like that had all the middle eastern influences. I believe they redid some songs from the very first one, on the Edge of Twilight. They had a minor hit in the States during the big "alternative" movement. They were Canadian and were much bigger in Canada and in Europe, then they over got or deserved in the US

I like them...

Ult, didn't I send you a copy of "Transmission" some time ago?

"Splendor Solis" is their debut and it's very Zeppelinesque

"Edges OfTwilight" was #2 and more of the same...

"Transmission" was next and a bit more "moden" but still killer.

"Triptych" was next...kinda dull...

I lost track after that...

I've got everything from them except the demos. Jeff Martin sounds like Jim Morrison a lot, (especially on Splendor Solis and The Edges Of Twilight), only better. I recommend the aforementioned albums and the Interzone Mantras. I'm a fanboy so I like 'em all.
