I recently picked up a killer disc by a band whose name translates into 'Requiem' from Open Grave Distro. They are a Russian band that play a very 'updated NWOBHM' sound (if that is possible Rolling Eyes ); and checking out the back of the disc I saw that they were on a label called Metalism Records . All that I have been able to find from them is their myspace page : http://www.myspace.com/metalismrecords , but they have a rather large player on that page with a ton of full length songs to stream. Plus they have a link to their e-bay store. I think I have only heard one English language singing band in the bunch, which adds to a lot of the music in my ears, gives it that more exotic sound.

Has anyone dealt with this seller before? I am sure they are trustworthy, but I don't know. Has any one heard of any of their roster before? There are some killer bands from former Soviet Union. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give them a chance because I really like a lot of stuff on this label.

Btw, Holy Dragons: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=138639336 from Kazakhstan are pretty rockin'.

Stormspell (one of our members here) runs a distro service that seems to carry a lot of Russian/Bulgarian/eastern bloc bands... he might be able to tell ya.

I've heard of some of them and find them to be great bands with killer songs!

Shah is a thrash band that kicks some serious ass!

Alkonost is a folk metal band that I've liked for a few years.

Grenour was managed by the same management we were on for a short time. Not my style though.

Mortifier is also a killer thrash band!

The rest I haven't heard of. Thanks for pointing this label out!!
