| Anybody else here a fan of the king of pop? I have all his albums from "Off The Wall", as I'm not too interested in his really early stuff. Amazingly talented guy, unfortunately, his personal life has really overshadowed his music career lately, and that's never good. Anyway, I would say his best album is "Bad". Opinions? | |

| Michael Jackson is a very talented artist, but I have to go with popular opinion and say that "Thriller" was his best album, where "Bad" is just bad and in not a good way, this was the beginning of Michael Jackson becoming a self parody. As you stated his bizzare personal life as overshadowed his music, which is too bad that he allowed his life to become such a freak show. I am not a fan but respect his talent as both a performer and a songwriter. | |

| Yeah, Thriller is great too. I guess I just found "Bad" to be more immediately catchy. | |

Here! Here! Though I was frightened by the transformation into the Werewolf at first (hey, I was just a kid). My favorite songs back then were Thriller, Bad, and Beat It (though these days I prefer Weird Al's Fat and Eat It).

| I would have to say "Thriller" is his best album, although I like "Off the Wall" as well. I am not a huge fan, mainly because I find child molesters to be particularly nefarious, but I do concede he had great pop talent, at least up to his Bad period. His music took a plunge right along with his image. | |

Neuropete- I love your avatar Im a huge fan of David Bowie

| He was a good dancer back in the eighties, and his tunes were catchy. Eddie Van Halen's guitar is what made Beat It a great tune. The best things about him back then, IMHO, was the cool MTV videos, especially Thriller!! | |

Well, lets face it, the guy never had a real childhood. He was physically and mentally abused by his father and later paraded around like a show pony with the Jackson 5. I'm not excusing any of his odd behaviour, but it is totally understandable how he became so screwed up. Let's face it apart from the fame and money, he's nothing but a 50 year old man child.

True Dallas, he is a real life Peter Pan, it is sad really.

| I used to listen to his HIStory: Past, Present and Future tapes continuously for an entire summer, while reading the book "The Amityville Horror", so I have some weird feelings, when I hear a Michael Jackson song now. | |

After Bad he should have stopped. No, Bad is just terrible. About the only positive that came from his post Thriller stuff is Smooth Criminal, and I could live without that one.

| I have to give him credit for what he has done and his talent but his music has never done a thing for me. Same goes for Prince, amazingly talented musicians but I just never connected with that type of music. | |
