| God I thought he was extinct FOR GOOD but to my disgust he has made a come back WHY? He is such a douchebag and a complete amateur when it comes to music I mean that song all summer long is absolutely cringe making and to make it worse like every wannabe he samples sweet home alabama and adds sleazy lyrics he probably came up with while jacking off to porn or the grief he went through after breaking up with pam anderson. It really disgusts me how this piece of crap he came up with can be on the top 10 charts and played constantly on the radio thats enough proof that the record companies are greedy egocentric bastards who don't give a crap on quality music and also proves that the public are too lazy to look for real music. Radio stations should be fined for playing his songs. Also heres a little trivia for you about the douchebag he divorced Pam just because she was in the movie Borat and all because his bitchy jealousness over it thats further proof he is a delinquent retard. Id rather listen to Limp bizcrap then listen to that filth of his maybe not emo though | |

| Selling alot of albums does not valdate an artist for me, if it did I would have a CD collection full of Britny Spears, Janet Jackson, New Kids on the Block, instead of King's X, Kreator, and others who have not even sold a fraction of what these pop acts have sold. Kid Rock selling millions of CD does not change the fact that his music is crap. The royality checks of "All Summer Long" should be going to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Warren Zevon since it is their music that song is built on. | |

Agreed. McDonald's sells more food than most grocery stores. Doesn't mean the food is good. Kid Rock is a zit on the ass of humanity. |

| Kid Rock bought the copyrights to those songs so in essence the original artists did get paid for their work.
And I actually like the latest Kid Rock album. Since no one is making southern rock anymore, this is about as close as it gets. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Actually, if you knew a damn thing about what you were talking about you'd know that Kid Rock has loads of talent and is a good guy, one that does a lot of charities and such. Amazing that you know so much about the guy. How long have you been friends? |

Amazing that you know so much about the guy. How long have you been friends? Well said my friend. It takes a special musical ear to fuse such disparate songs as Werewolves Of London and Sweet Home Alabama into a cohesive new song. To say nothing about songs like "Blue Jean and A Rosary" which sounds like the best song Elton John never recorded during the Tumbleweed Connection sessions. If you still think Kid Rock is a rap/metal artist who only samples other people's music, you haven't been listening. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| KID ROCK rules imo. I love the music and the man is so talented. What is there not to like, other then he likes to party so he writes about it. Listen to some of his heavily southern rock influenced songs and then tell me what you think. | |

Yep! I'm convinced the "haters" are hung up on his original rap/metal persona. His current music has very little in common with that style. Again, I point to "Blue Jeans And A Rosary" from his last album. That sounds so much like early Elton John... _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I don't particularly like his music, but I guess he does have some talent. Certainly nothing I'd go out and buy, but I'd rather listen to Kid Rock than the rap sh*t that's all the rage nowadays. | |

I think fingers is obsessed with Pamela Anderson. I bet he hates Tommy Lee and Bret Michaels, too. |

What Kid Rock has an ear for is horrible pastiche and sampling. What else has he sampled, besides Metallica? And even then, he did far more than sample. What he did with "Sad But True" was pretty awesome, in my opinion. |

What Kid Rock has an ear for is horrible pastiche and sampling. They may have the same chord sequence but stylistically, the songs are totally different. I wouldn't think of those two songs together because they're from completely disparate genres. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I wouldn't think of those two songs together because they're from completely disparate genres. They're not that different...same tempo, same key, same chord progressions and overplayed on the same Classic Rock stations...the biggest difference is the vocal styles of Warren Zevon and Ronnie Van Zant. |

| I guess I don't know why an artist would choose to take samples from other songs rather than create something themselves. I understand people like things they are familiar with and the melodies of the Werewolves song and Sweet Home Alabama are widely known, but from an artistic standpoint it's pretty swarthy to use other peoples ideas, even if you do pay the original artists for them. If you use someone else's stuff, use it all and make a cover song instead of cherry picking this and that and putting your own stupid words over top of it. |
