Jani Lane out of Warrant AGAIN! Lynch Mob's Robert Mason in.No surprise, given how he was screwing up the reunion shows.
I hope Jani gets his act together, but it's hard to feel sorry for him at this point. I'd much rather see the rest of the band solider on under a different name though. To me, touring & recording as Warrant is fairly pointless unless Jani is singing.
I hope this doesn't stall a new release though because their last one was pretty good.

| Jamie St. James was let go in favor of a full reunion w/ Jani Lane (he went back to Bn'B)...now this. Jani Lane has got to be one of the most self-destructive dudes on the planet...he & Vinnie Vincent should start a band... |

I'm assuming. I know he was drunk for a few shows, but then it sounded like the shows got good again and then he went back to screwing up live.

| This sucks. At least The Saint got back together with Black N Blue! Maybe they will put out another disc. I also hope Warrant records again, even with a new vocalist. Maybe Jani should just stick with Saints Of The Underground...maybe the chemistry, or lack of...in Warrant is just too much for him. Arttie | |

Yeah, I would definitely love to see another SOTU album. That was a solid album.

| I have always wondered about the psyche of metal musicians and rock stars in general. Not to get all psychoanalytical and stuff, but I think it messes with some musicians who used to sell out 10,000+ seat arenas and are now playing small venues of 1,000 seats or so; and usually do this as a group of bands together or at a festival type setting. Just a thought. Peace. | |

I would bet money that a lot of bands are like this...but Jani's big thing is he hates himself...he blames his old record label for making him write "Cherry Pie" and turning him into a joke (in his eyes)...he hates how it all ended up... |

| Warrant had tons of potential but never quite reached it in my opinion. Too bad ,cause they had some really rockin' tunes in the midst of the "I saw red"s and "Cherry Pie"s. While not a great song, at the time "Cherry Pie" was a funny song and people did seem to like it. | |

| I saw Jani a few years ago in LA. I went to see Metal Skool, the 80's tribute band and Jani was in the audience. He seemed pretty hammered and refused to get on stage. Eventually, the crowd cheered him on and he did 2 songs with the band. When the band started into Cherry Pie, he said "No, not that f**king song". | |

| Did you ever see Jani's rant on one of those VH1 countdown shows about how much he hates "Cherry Pie?" He says every time he hears it he wants to shoot himself in the head!! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I was never crazy about Warrant's first album but the CHERRY PIE, DOG EAT DOG and ULTRAPHOBIC discs all have some good stuff on'em. I guess Jani is just tired of having the "Cherry Pie" albatross around his neck. Though if I were him, I'd be happy to simply have written a song, no matter HOW dumb it might have been, that bought me a big house and a couple of Ferraris. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| But he doesn't have the house and Ferraris anymore. All he has is that cute little song. |

| It's not just the selling out of bigger venues in favor of smaller ones like I wrote above, but also, as spectre alludes to, is the lack of the bank account and material possessions that haunts some of these guys. I am certainly not saying that every rock star from the eighties is broke and doing a menial job somewhere, cuz there are still the millionaires like Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Megadeth that were big 20 years ago and still are the same way today. But, I am sure that this as well haunts some guys. Peace. | |

| I think Jani is a very talented songwriter. Tragic that he can't get over the substance abuse problem. | |
